Dooley may have thought that Ausmus was too close to the ogre. That's who wanted him at UT isn't it? JMO It is a mistake to let him go.

While I agree that there are alot of people on here that know more than the president of the U.S., I don't wish some of those people the opportunity to coach at UT. I could be setting myself up for disappointment again, but I'm just going to assume that Dooley had some reason for his thinking on this matter. A coaching staff needs to have a common goal, and even if Ausmus is the best S&C coach in the country it won't do us much good if he isn't on the same page as other coaches. But who knows what's going to happen.

LOL. I admit I don't know more than coach Dooley about football, but I do actually know more than Obama. Of course, that is not hard to do.:p

The strength coach can easily be replaced. I would not sweat it. If he has a big offer, let him go. I don't blame him.

Rucker's other tweets seem to think he's gone

USCfootball.com is reporting that Ausmus is "in the process of being hired" by the Trojans. Only silence in Knoxville right now.

Ausmus has worked with Kiffin and Orgeron a long time, and he has no guarantees with a new sheriff in Knoxville. Let's see how it plays out.

I'm not going to stamp this "confirmed," but it would be surprising if Aaron Ausmus isn't with the Trojans very soon. Sorry,

Have to have a meltdown over what CDD "needs" to do every few days. Just wouldn't be VN without it.

Need to relax and trust what CDD does. If that means CDD hires someone other than AA, so be it.

Both of these men have been very succesful in their field. Either way sounds like a Solid Hire. To bad Jabba the Hutt has since passed away, now that was a physique.

True, I think we need to let DD get whoever he wants in here to run the S & C program. Everybody says that AA wanted to stay and yada yada yada, but we do not know. Give Dooley a chance to hire somebody HE wants, not somebody that Kiffin wants.
Everybody says that a S & C coach is so important, but remember he came from North Texas, not a big time powerhouse. Dooley will get a good S & C coach in here.

I'd say he's definitely gone...considering I got a text from Volquest and they don't usually text unless its a done deal although I can recall one time it was wrong about hiring a coach if I'm remembering correctly.
