I am so sick and tired of watching the vols lose every game they play the same way. Every game is a carbon copy. Play well in the first half, lead at halftime only to come out in the second half and lay a complete egg. They always play pretty well until the 10 or 12 minute mark of the 2nd half and they go scoreless for long periods of time. It also seems like every team is shooting the lights out of the 3 point shot. I said, several days ago that we need to split while Lofton is out. Everyone thought I was an idiot, but we are seeing that we are a below average team without Lofton. It makes me wonder exactly what it will be like after next season when Lofton is gone. It is a scary thought to me. I am pulling my hair out everyday or the vols. I have been a lifelong fan and I am ready to win. I feel like they are at the very best a bubble team right now. I think they have to get AT LEAST 19 wins to get in and im not sure where to find those other 5 wins. Is anyone else as frustruated as me? I am sick of this stuff. In my opinion, Kentucky is a very average team this season and they just blow us out. I can't put into words how mad I am. It stinks to keep getting our hopes up, only to watch them be dashed time after time.

UT has seemed to lack that extra gear everyone else seems to be able to go to in the last ten minutes.

realx.....this isn't really anything new. we knew minus lofton we were very young. we lose wingate in the offseason and have no real answer at PG.

so, while it is frustrating, it's also not really all that unexpected imo. you take lofton of the mix and you just have a young team.

they'll get better as they get more exprience.......

so, yeah, it sucks right now, but the future of TN bball looks so much better today that it did three years ago it's not even funny. this wasn't the year we were going to dominate, and we all knew it. even with lofton you could tell this team has deficiencies.

its true that they're losing the same way but it give a HUGE lesson to the freshmen. This tennessee basketball team is going to unbelevible next year...bruce pearl will make sure of that.....look the fact is we have a lot of freshmen and its just hard to win when ur only All-Almerican player is out and you your playing four freshmen...and when lofton leaves, pearl will have a whole off season to put together another game plan...right now he only has a matter of hours to create a gameplan without hsi best player...

the point is: RELAX

Im predicting tenn to get a #7 seed and make the sweet 16....they're going to build ont his every year.

Would you rather they start losing by being down 20 at halftime and come back to only lose by 1 or 2?

well........maybe. at least it would prove they have some heart and determination

did the TX, OSU and Memphis games not prove that to you?

this team is capable of winning games like those and dropping games like they have lately......this is a young team, that will be full of suprises, both good and bad, but effort has not been a problem.

Then we could just question their heart and determination in the first halves of games.

This "heart and determination" thing makes me want to climb the wall. You're seeing a (basically) freshman team play harder and longer than teams of top-10 caliber. The difference IMO is that we are not so "multi-dimensional" as a top-tier program needs to be. . . .but that will come with time, recruiting, and experience. I see a lot of teams making halftime adjustments on our fairly limited offense, a short bench, and missing our only MVP threat due to injury.

The only thing that is really killing me right now is our free-throw ineptitude. If we plan on going anywhere in March of this year, next year, or ever, we better learn to take advantage of the gimmes. Our foul shooting has cost us 2 or 3 games, thus far, and will cost more if BP can't turn it around. I almost think a little consult from the Psych department isn't in order. Yoga? Pilates? Ballet? Crap, anything at this point.

As a Texas alumnus....:shakehead: Why couldn't y'all have laid an egg in the 2nd half of that game....

I didn't get to watch the game today (stupid CBS showing Wisconsin) or listen to it on the radio. But it sounds like the Kentucky game was different from the recent losses in that we actually showed up for the first 10 minutes of the second half and folded during the second 10 minutes. More common recently it seems like we go on a dry spell right after the beginning of the second half. The end result is the same, of course, but it does seem different.

I don't think I'd call what we did really showing up. It was just that Kentucky kept turning the ball over and kept us in the game. Once they started taking care of the ball and making shots, it was lights out.

Oh. Too bad.

I realize that. However, the ADs at both of those schools are derelect in their duties if they do not make that phone call at the end of the year.

that comment was more for those who thought i was actually serious.

as a matter of fact, i find the Bruce Pearl criticism humorous.

Slick Rick hates losing anyway. Slick Rick says let's keep up the fight and not give up on the vols.

I am tired of losing the same way. Blowout losses. At least your teams appear to be well coached and competitive. We are now officially in the market for a high profile coach.
