...cryptic approach with the media? I want to like the guy. I really do, but with the circus-esque fiasco of Janzen Jackson last summer, and now with DaRick Rogers, his word-play with the media and his overall antagonistic approach is getting old. He won't say DaRick Rogers is suspended, but says that "he has some things to do before he can come back, and if he doesn't do them, he won't be here". Is that not the textbook definition of a suspension?

is anyone else tired of dumb threads?

on a serious note, someone mentioned in another thread that the knox media deserves nothing more from dooley. I agree.

i know people will disagree with you, but i agree.

i will say it's not just dooley. the reason i feel they should be more open is that typically people begin to think the worst of the player involved (in this case rogers).

i understand keeping things in house, but it's not cool having all of this wild speculation running around either.

Right, because all coaches are open books. If Dooley won ten games last year, you wouldn't give two flips about what he says to the media.

Context is important.

Maybe you should worry about muschump instead of the tn coach

He told the truth, if he does some things he will be back. The constant need for information is laughable these days. Unless he is suspended, Dooley doesn't have to say a word. If he responded to every rumor then he wouldn't even have enough time to go piss, let alone coach this team.

With all the nonsense surrounding his tenture, it certainly would behoove him to be a little more open about things going on. He does nothing but fuel rumors and let people speculate by never addressing anything in any detail.

Agree w/pj. When you watch these interviews, the pure bafoonery of the media "professionals" is mind blowing. The media is simply butt hurt that CDD doesn't spoon feed them everything they want, and they can't handle it that they actually have to work for their stories now. In no way does this change my opinion of CDD. I like the guy, and will support him 100% until he's no longer employed with UT.

how can you watch the post-practice interviews and put this on Dooley?

It's not that I blame Dooley for the situation. My complaint is the secretive nature in his approach. Just say "no comment" when asked about it. Don't say he's not suspended, but then lay out guidelines for Rogers to return to the team. If he has things he has to do to return, then he is suspended, whether Dooley wants to call it something else or not.

If every coach in America were as open about their programs as you guys are calling for Dooley to be, then you'd have much more problems to deal with than what's to be made of player's tweet. Behooves him? Gimme a break. Dooley owes the media nothing.

Let's see. He gives enough information to let us know something is going on but at the same time protects the privacy of his player. Sounds like the right balance to me.

I blame Canada...and Wes Rucker's beard. (Yes I mean facial hair, not his other "beard")

Yeah, it is a bit annoying having all of this churn about DR out there (again). But seeing as how the media will take any small thing DD might say about the DR situation and turn it into a three ring circus, you can't really blame Dooley for being a little reticent.

I'd be willing to bet DD is at least as sick of talking about DR as we are of hearing about it.

I agree completely, just giving the counterpoint.

just because you define it one way doesn't mean Dooley has to

I'm tired of hearing about Da'rick...I don't care what Dooley tells the media, or if he tells them anything. This news was started by Da'rick....again.I'm tired of what Dooley is or is not saying to the team, that Da'rick would put his coach in this position says a lot.
