Is anyone else still not ready to call South Carolina.....

Not saying we will beat them, but I do think GA should have. I don't know if it was b/c GA lost Bennett and it was a bit like us losing Hunter last year, but they did not look like themselves in that game. Bottom line, I think SC looked better in that game than they really are.

I think you all match up waaaaayyyyy better against SCAR. My Dawgs just didn't show up, not that we can't whip their azzes, but u gotta show up first. UT's o line will be the big equalizer, and Bray will be able to pick their secondary apart. Starts with your line tho, and it is a good one! Fwiw, I hope you beat the unholy hell outa the cocks! They are the most obnoxious fan base in the SEC definitely. By the way, that was their best game ever, don't expect them to bring that intensity every week. Go Vols!

I loved the prediction you posted on DawgRant. That was a gem to behold.

yay.....i will NEVER Look at anyone, especially the cocks as an autoloss...dont care how long spurrier is there. i use to go to columbia every other year because of 3 guarantees.....guaranteed good parking, guaranteed good people and guaranteed good win...although the latter isnt a sure thing anymore, the first still is, the second seems to be, although spurriers presence does seem to have rubbed off on a few fans ( i.e. the florida fans when he was there) and although we've lost to them 2 straight years and most "experts" predict 3 in a row, i maintain that a win in columbia is still very attainable, regardless of who's on the sidelines for either team. It takes years to build a tradition of losing and failure, what makes people think it can all be un done in a few short years?

We may not beat sc. Or bama but we keep it close! With a lucky bounce we could win them both.:)

They have more weaknesses than that. Secondary, O-line, wide receiver, one dimensional qb. You can't base everything off of one game where everything was working.

One-dimensional? Last time I checked, Shaw was doing pretty well running and throwing.

I say we will beat them by at least ten points. Watch for our defense to be more conservative and in better positions.

It depends on which Carolina team shows up. They hadn't looked good at all before the Georgia game so I want to see the team before Georgia that the Vols will have a good chance to beat. If it's the team that pounded Georgia, they will be hard to beat.

SC is a good team. I'm over 2 weeks away from worrying about what will happen. I found that if I worry about things I can control I feel better.

SC has to play LSU and FL before they get to us.

If they are still undefeated by the TN game, we may be toast! If not then we should have a good shot at beating them. I hate that it is away for us though.

Here is the problem, we Vol fans tend to get worked up over a one game performance.

Dooley was fired, by many, after the Kentucky loss.

Florida was horrible after the Bowling Green game.

UT was an SEC contender after beating NCSU.

SCAR is a world beater after beating UGA.

I don't think any of those games have long term implications. We need to stop hyperventilating any time any other team scores a point or trying to make some flimsy argument that UT lost to UGA who lost bad to SCAR so UT will lose bad to SCAR. That is as dumb as saying UT beat NCSU who beat FSU, so UT would definitely beat FSU.

We have a good shot against any team left on our schedule. If we play out of our minds like SCAR did Saturday night, we could beat anyone left.

100% agree with you. I have alot of faith in our O line and they have proven there worth time and again. Ive said it before, we can put up serious points on anyone and have no doubt we will score well against MSU. Our D is the MAIN reason we are 3-2. I hope they worked there butts off during bye week. If our D starts playing like an sec defense should we will win this game big and the team confidence will soar. DD's credilibity and future at UT " and yes Im a DD fan" hinge on the D getting there act together.

On paper I never "liked our chances". But I was never ready to call them a sure loss. And I'm still not. If we hammer MS State and LSU beats SC, I will feel confident.
Two very big ifs. While I think we will beat MSU, it will be a close game imo. And LSU is way overrated this year. Their offense is terrible.

Ask this question again after the MSU and Bama games. Those games will have a big impact on where UT is, mentally, approaching the USCe game.

Also, USCe is a much better "home" team, and you know SOS will have them fired up for this one.

Right now, I'd say we're a 21 point dog. But in two weeks, who knows?

Go Vols.

A good pash rush all but nullifies what we try to do on offense. They have one of the best in the country. It's going to be ugly...really ugly.

South Carolina is beatable. It does not matter at all what the teams did before us. Anything can happen in the SEC. The VOLS have one of the most potent offenses in the country. When the defense catches up, it will look impressive

This x10. At this point, people forget that the games still have to be played. The season is always a rollercoaster and every team has ups and downs.

I myself had FSU penciled in for a spot in the NC game. They seemed like a team that was gelling and Emanuel was really starting to finally show his potential.

While I don't think that we will beat Alabama or SC, I do think that we can score some points on both defenses. If our defense can contain the big plays and we get a break here and there, then it is possible to win either of those games.

Having said that, SCs defensive front is as good as I've seen in a decent amount of time. But, then again, it plays to our strength which is pass protection, so.....

I dont see this game against South Carolina as an automatic lost. I personally believe that at the end of October, the Vols will be 5-3, and make a run in November to finish 9-3. Yes I know, what most are gonna say, and based what I read on here I will get torched for saying it but I dont really care. I believe, and have said all year, Tennessee will finish 9-3. I would like to have beaten are rivals we have faced this year just as much as anyone, but fact is we all knew, undefeated this year wasnt gonna happen. Everyone is on here complaining, wanting Vols football to get back to dominance, but how about the Volnation get back to being who we use to be, instead negative energy, be positive and let the year play out.

I know what is coming but go ahead and flame away:hi:

You say that as though we don't have an offensive line to speak of. Our guys are not just going to lay down and let Clowney step over them.

I'd say we will see a lot of 2 TE sets with Bullard playing the jumbo. Essentially 7 lineman. It won't be as easy for SC as it was against UGA.

Assuming you're not a troll, I respect his post from a Mutt fan. Y'all can beat S. Carolina 6 out of 10 times IMO.. The cocks just came out amped up and full of emotion and had y'all shell shocked from the beginning. That kind of intensity will not and can not be duplicated week after week. As long as we keep Clowney and their pass rush in check, look for us to stretch the ball vertically down the field to compliment our rushing attack. I think CP needs to have a big impact on their secondary and Rivera has to beat their LBs in 1-on-1 coverage.. Looking forward to this match up. Just gotta take care of some other dawgs this weekend first. We gone whip they aces.. GO VOLS!
