Considering what Chaney has done at all of his other stops, GA's offense may be a little more potent than anyone thinks.

Well, Chaney was able to improve Cropmton enough to get drafted. Guy can coach.

Nope. Chaney couldn't get much out of the offense at Tennessee against a good defense and couldn't get much out of the offense against any team when he didn't have Bray out there. He was a funny guy in interviews and seemed to be a fine coach...but he was not a good play caller. No feel for the flow of a game. Arkansas is another example to look at. Allen was crap at QB under Chaney but had a major turnaround last season under Enos. Hard to credit Chaney with their running game success when every team under Bielema runs the ball well. Chaney is far from being a top tier OC.

Anyone acting like Chaney is not a concern is "whistling in the graveyard". Guy can coach. He has been a success every where he has coached.

Not really. Our defense is good enough to stop Chaney's offense. By the way, that guy from UGA who took out Tuttle on purpose, has it coming for him.

Also more than a little concerned about A&M. Sumlin can coach as well. Like it or not, so can Chavis. I think Trevor Knight fits this offense like a glove.

I'm concerned about their offense's dirty hits. (Their center comes to mind.) Game could get ugly.

I like Chaney and think he's a good coach. Difficult to say how much he will improve UGA. Their OL didn't have as far to go as UT's did.

I'm whistling then. Good coach in practice, poor play caller on gameday. He did well in the Big 10 and ok in the ACC at Pitt. His reputation as an OC is mostly built off his time at Purdue over a decade ago. His best offense at Tennessee was in 2012 with a very talented QB (even though he was a knucklehead), two extremely talented receivers, and an o-line full of future NFL players. That offense still struggled against good defenses.

No RB to count on in those years though.

Define success; he was ok at Arky and not sure what you can gather from his time at Pitt. We had negative rushing yards on a few occasions with him at the helm. We threw the ball everywhere but couldn't move the ball with any consistency against just about anyone with a pulse.

The good news for us is:
1) we play them relatively early
2) they have no clue who their QB is
3) the QB candidates are a couple of guys who have shown very little and a true freshmen who will be limited.

A&M is a train wreck right now. We are going to completely out physical and out class them. UGA is going to be ready to role with us coming in undefeated and the East on the line. We have to go at worst 3-1 during that 4 game stretch with 0 losses to Florida or UGA.

I'm not.

I'm sure they will be better just because Chub is back, that was critical to our win. But we will be better in all facets of the game of football. Shoop is playing mind games with the OC of our opponents, he is telling them what he is gonna do to them and they are a nervous wreck. We got this.

Jump higher Vols.

OP did you forget we got Shoop as a DC now ?

Nope, and not a doomsday poster. Just saying, I am a little more concerned with GA, and A&M as opposed to FL and 'Bama. GA defense is gonna be tough and Chaney can coach. A&M with Knight and Sumlin will be hard to handle as well.

Sumlin and Chaney's body of work> Stoops.

It's funny how many people think that was why we won. Sony Michel came in and ran for 150 and UGA beat us on 3 or 4 deep balls. Chubb going down wasn't some sort of death blow.

Think harder, Vols.
