If we are lucky enough to get Gruden, UT Football has a great chance to be relevent once again. Now on the other hand, I'm not so sure any other HC has much of a chance to rescue recruiting at this low point in the program. The talent level at UT is at an all time low, thus the 1-7 SEC record. We are facing a tremendous up hill battle to get back to being a contender and I'm afraid most fans don't really realize how bad the program has become. I don't want to seem like the doom and gloom fan but the last few years record is the true indicator. I can't ever give up on my beloved Vols but I've seen enough to know we are indeed in trouble.

I actually like the way Hart is handling this, but the suspense is driving me crazy. He should definitely keep the details in house. Basically the opposite of what Hamilton did. Unlike the last hire, the public doesn't need to know how many coaches turned us down before one finally said yes. IMO, a reason why we haven't started the interview process w/ other coaches is to make sure Gruden knows how bad we want him here and he's by far the number 1 target.

This would not surprise me at all considering he forced Sunseri on Dooley and since we bound to our contract with the devil to hire Kiffins and Sabanites we are screwed.

It's not our talent as much as it has been horrible coaching the past 3 years. Look at the NFL in 2 years and you will have no less than 8 players off this years team on NFL rosters. Is our talent level up to the level of Bama or LSU? Nope, but it's a lot better than what our record was this year. A decent coach would have won a minimum of 8 games with our talent this season.

We had the talent this year to make a run at winning the East but not the coaching. you could tell those defensive guys had no clue what they were doing out there! They are fairly talented but lacked coaching miserably

Most nervous I have ever been about something to which I can not control. Not sure why they are waiting to make a decision.

who was our strength and conditioning coach this year? our dbs looked a .5 second slower in 40 time than last year
