Now that Phil is gone, is anybody else really nervous about what is going to happen now? I know we did a good job hiring Bruce Pearl, but what are the odds we get it right the first time in football too?

I would say pretty high since we do have a lot of money to pay for a new coach. And we have the highest recruiting budget in the country...I think we look like a pretty good fit for a damn good coach! I think Hamilton will make the right move!

i just don't want to go through what Alabama went through for 10 years.....i know they ok now but for 10 years they were a joke.

I have complete faith in Mike Hamilton to do his job. I never thought he would pull the trigger on CPF but he did. That tells me he is tired of losing and is willing to do WHATEVER it takes to get us back on top.

Some would say we have already been there the last 10 years.

Yep, Nervous, butterflies, etc. It is a sad day that Fulmer is let go, but then again...new life is a good thing!

This may be a good job but lets not forget the current SEC landscape and the expectations we have as a fan base. The SEC is a gauntlet right now, great coaches with good talent. Very tough for a new coach coming in.

It could most certainly get worse, look at Alabama for a case in point. Nebraska also comes to mind.

Just thinking about what happened in Bama before Saban came, that is exactly we need to avoid: DON'T LET COACHES LIKE SHULA SCREW OUR FOOTBALL TEAM

I'm as excited as I was before the season began. I hope that with everything that went into getting Fulmer out, Hamilton will make sure he gets a quality coach to get things right the first time.

Just because it's a great job doesn't mean someone can step in and be great at it.

It will be hard to find a coach that will come in and do what Meyer, Miles or Saban has done. It's a growing process and to think that we'll be instant National Championship contenders would be a bit premature.

They better make the right decision the first time, otherwise we're in a world of hurt and it might take us another decade of losing to dig our way out of it.

Agreed, but do you think CPF could have righted the ship in the same amount of time?

I am scared that he won't can Clawson. Clawson needs to go ASAP!

His blunderhead coaching really killed us this season

How long can they drag out naming the new coach though? I'm assuming somebody has to be in place at a certain point. When is that point? And will those involved want it to be sooner rather than later?
