IRS admits to targeting Conservative groups

Saw that too. I thought it would get more attention than it did.

Not surprised it didn't but it would if the situation were reversed. The pro-hetero marriage group is by definition viewed as "haters" so even if bad stuff happens to them it's no big deal. If the pro-gay marriage group was the victim all hell would break loose.

Saw a blip about this last night. Would like to see the evidence on it. If true that's pretty bad, I'd agree.

If true, one would assume they saved the proof.

Did anyone else catch the story yesterday where a conservative groups tax form with their donar list was given to their opposition and posted on their website? I ddidn't get the whole story and will look it up later, but I understnad it was one of POTUS' campaign chairs that runs the group. Wouldn't this be a felony?

Yes. Very ugly story.

I rewatched the session on cspan yesterday, one of the committee members put the documents up on an overhead display and they went over the details. Pretty clear the leaked documents were stamped internal use only. If you search huffpo for 2008 NOM tax return you can see it.

the quotes from the organization that is for same sex marriage were pretty ridiculous. Pretty much we don't care if what we do is illegal we only care to expose these people.

I mean at the end of the day who cares about gay marriage it's going to be legal at some point.

But they are getting into pretty shady territory doing this in my opinion.

Well, this whole "scandal" just lost even more momentum for the GOP.

IRS targeting included liberal groups - CNN.com

So, the Republican who did the audit that first disclosed this says he has found no evidence of a political motive in the use of the screening criteria at issue; plus, it turns out that the screening criteria included all sorts of things, not just conservative nomenclature. In fact, it included liberal and progressive terms, as well; and at least one manager, who is a very conservative member of the GOP has testified that it was his underling who did this, and he okayed it in advance.

So the GOPers will continue to scream that it was political on the one hand, then murmur on the other that there is no evidence of that. They probably won't admit that the evidence is all actually to the contrary. But whatever gets you on Fox News, I guess.

If they were on the list, is there evidence that their applications were delayed? Isn't it possible they were on the BOLO list so their applications would have been accelerated? The article doesn't say either way.

Accelerated?

LOL.

Reaching even more, if that were even possible with this nonsense.

It is totally plausible and, like I said, the article doesn't say the progressive groups applications were delayed. Where are the progressive groups screaming about delays?

I find it plausible because any time a "progressive group" gets a fart crossways they become a whining, obnoxious victim.

1. The guy who did the audit was not looking for political connection - it was not part of the investigation.
2. People were interviewed with their superior in the room.
3. Show the evidence that "liberal" groups were subject to the same scrutiny and delays.

4. The administration line that this was a couple rogue agents in Cincinnati has been proven false and the connections to IRS HQ have been established.

'Lookout List' Not Much Broader Than Originally Thought, Contrary to Reports | National Review Online

That means the applications of progressive groups could be approved on the spot by line agents, while those of tea-party groups could not. Furthermore, the November 2010 list noted that tea-party cases were “currently being coordinated with EOT,” which stands for Exempt Organizations Technical, a group of tax lawyers in Washington, D.C. Those of progressive groups were not.

there's a picture just in case anyone in this thread might need it....:whistling:
