IRS admits to targeting Conservative groups

I didn't look - did Koskinen explain why he indicated in March that they would get all the emails even though he knew at the time they were "lost"?

He pointed out they sent 27 pages explaining what the answers to the problem was & if they didn't understand that well......just too damn bad for them.

I saw it -- HORRIBLE acting by him. The feigned outrage got him on Fox though. So it worked. Tucker Carlson this morning called it "dramatic. " I call it overdramatic.

Really weak.

He does a way better job of "acting" outraged than Biden does of "acting" smart.

CNN just ran part of the hearing. I give Ryan cudo's. He was spot on. I don't understand how any sensible person can believe the IRS lost these emails. It is not only Lois Lerner's emails, it appears that the emails of everyone involved in this are lost.

Had he gone after Biden that way in the debate, I can guarantee you Uncle Joe wouldn't have had a smirk.

The biggest thing the media isn't asking right now is who did those emails go to? And furthermore, wasn't that around the same time that the IRS made all those White House visits?

So they can collect each and every email back to people in the IRS but nothing outside of the agency. Coincidence that those emails would be the ones that link the IRS to higher?

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen said yesterday his agency doesn't owe Congress any apology whatsoever citing the fact that the IRS hasn't lost a single email since the current investigation began. He must not have gotten that last memo from his underlings. How do they find these most arrogant pos people like him & Lerner to run the IRS to begin with??

The median may be making a turn on this issue, at least CNN is. There report I watched this afternoon was spot on. This is so far fetched no one can believe the IRS lost those specific emails.

The candidates are so coached going into a debate they are scared to says anything not rehearsed.

Yep and Ryan stated the IRS owed the American people an apology. I was actually proud of Ryan. He sais what many others should be saying.

It's really beyond rich that for the IRS public relations team to try as they may to present the agency as "sticklers" for adhering to required operating procedures. The reason Congress asked for the hard drive at all is because the IRS claimed many of Lerner's email was stored on it & nowhere else. The IRS failed to comply with "standard IRS protocol" on records maintenance. According to Federal law IRS guidelines requires "virtual copies" of all official emails to be permanently & separately stored in addition to "hard copy records".

Isn't this all too convenient.

Not a smidgen of corruption but an extreme overload of BS.

One would have to be willfully blind to not see there are "issues" here.

You do realize that in the story of the boy that cried wolf, there was actually a wolf-- right?

Sure. My point is that if there is any merit to any of these criticisms, it's drowned out by all the other nonsense. It's hard to take any of it very seriously.

Alinsky's fourth rule:

(4). There can be no conversation between the organizer and his opponents. The latter must be depicted as being evil.

It is correct to say that they should have the emails. It is correct to say that it looks bad when they don't.

It is incorrect to say that the fact that the emails are missing automatically leads to the conclusion that they showed anything remarkable, or that their loss is anything other than innocent.
