Iran

Of course they won’t be, but if they have nukes they’ll do it anyway.
Because if their inefficient refining processes they need oil prices to be inflated to be profitable.
You cats need to graduate from checkers
Them closing the strait unilaterally when they're not at war would hurt them more than it would help them.

yea, I could not imagine the extortion they would enact with nukes..tolls on shipping, more terrorism, etc. Immunity card.

An evil regime.

They wouldn't get to play that game. Trying it would cost them more than what it would be worth. They can get a lot of revenue by selling oil.
They were making plenty of money selling oil and their economy was still terrible. While the current conflict pushed it off a cliff, it's not like it was the cause of their issues.

The control over the strait has nothing to do with nukes. Hell they've got a good handle on it now. "Pay us to use the striat or we nuke you." Well then you just get nuked yourself. That's how nuke threats work. They want them to prevent regime change.

A pipe line is being built by the UAE which bypasses the Strait of Hormuz. It is expected to be up and going by 2027. If it has the capacity, then Iran is neutered from threatening control of the strait. In fact, in the future, Iranian oil may be blocked from exiting the gulf, while oil from other nations can just flow through the pipeline and bypass the strait.
