Iran

Everyone but the Trump admin knows that any commercial ship trying to transit the strait is going to get IRGC hell rained down on it which would be additional escalation that they don’t want.
Any commercial ship other than the 2 US commercial ships that already successfully transited the Stait with no issues?

Yeah we should just let crime happen. There are many cities and states in this country learning the disaster that is letting criminals run wild. The strategy of labeling the cartels as terrorist organizations, treating them like enemy combatants, and use of military assets has borne fruit.
Are drug related deaths down the past year and a half? Yes they are, at a historic rate. Wonder why that is?
So are we gonna stop the cocaine?

No. This wrong.

WE DESTROYED IRAN'S MILITARY CAPABILITY AND THE WAR IS ALREADY OVER.

Just ask @rikberry31
This little excursion has no positive end for the USA. At all. Iran took a lickin and is literally gonna get what they want from Trump..pallets of cash that would make Obama jealous. Trump and his goons are a rudderless ship outfitted with thoughts and prayers and loads of miracle water just going in circles.

I am far from zealous for war. If goes like the Truth Deniers say it will, it will mean my Son would be mostly likely sent to combat. I have skin in the game.
I am absolutely over the moon that this operation is going extraordinarily well.
I am not at all naive. My son has an expert's insight in the military aspects (it's his freaking job) of all this and he has given me a lot of optimism. Probably if it weren't for that I would give the Truth Deniers and the Doomers more credibility, but they are completely full of 🐂 💩.
Iran imposes new rules for strait in bid to secure wartime gains

are these facts or is this just a wet dream of yours? Or hoping this will happen? I hear TDS makes people's reality and fantasy blur

Trump has two choices:

1l allow the Irwnians to kick the nuclear can down the road yet again, and be criticized for achieving no real result in that acore; or,

2) go back to use of force and drive the price of oil up to $140 or $150 a barrel and crushed the economy.

Does he current US peace proposal to Iran reportedly include a provision to address Iran's nuclear program sometime in the future?

Yes — according to multiple reports, the current U.S.-Iran peace framework appears to postpone at least some core nuclear-program issues into a later negotiation phase rather than resolving them immediately. (Reuters)

Reuters reported today that the draft proposal creates a phased process: first a halt in hostilities and other immediate measures, then a 30-day negotiation window for a broader settlement that would address unresolved issues including Iran’s nuclear program. (Reuters)

Axios similarly reported that earlier Iranian proposals sought to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the conflict while leaving detailed nuclear negotiations for a later stage. The U.S. side reportedly pushed to “insert the nuclear issue back into the draft text.” (Axios)

More recent reporting suggests the evolving framework now does include nuclear-related provisions in principle — such as limits or freezes on uranium enrichment — but still envisions future detailed negotiations for a comprehensive agreement. (Axios)

So the answer is essentially: yes, reports indicate the proposal either defers major nuclear issues to future talks or treats the current agreement as an interim framework leading to later negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program.

That would be my guess yes. And two US destroyers went thru also. Did you see the intel assessment above that they still retain 70% of their missile and launcher capacity? A ship captain might be willing to Leroy Jenkins the strait but I’d guess the ship insurer is not based on the intel.

Technically he wasn't in any. He was in a Mobile Brigade Combat Team that was on paper never deployed overseas. I think he was listed as 278th. He went to Poland at the time of the Ukraine War began and I don't think they were supposed to be there.
It was talking to him that gave me the confidence in the U.S. capabilities. I was concerned that the Russians may move against Poland and he told me not to worry about the Russians that they were garbage, tactically and equipment wise. He said the same thing about the Chinese.
I have a good friend that just retired who was a 2 star general over the 278th

What was our last stated goal in this idiotic endeavor by Trump? I think he said a nuclear weapon free Iran and an open Straight of Hormuz. So.....exactly what we had before we started the war? 😂

Those insurance companies have to be sweating bullets right now.
Oh I’d guess the owners of the ship’s cargo are the worried ones. It’s very straight forward for the insurers they just tell the ship owner and captain “if you try to transit the straight you do it without insurance coverage.” Nothing to sweat. Meanwhile whomever owns that loaded oil has a huge capital investment that is worthless for an undetermined time
