Kid, do us all a favor, have your dad drive you down to the local VFW and ask to talk to some people who served in OEF, OFS, or OIF, and ask them how they feel about sacrificing US blood and treasure to "bring freedom" to the Middle East, and then get back to us.

Wow you got me all figured out slick? Who outed me? One of your leg humper plants in the various contractor engineering organizations? I’m sure y’all got the skinny on all us has been contractors. But hey I had a good run 38 years plus going back 2.5 as a contractor before I decided to hang it up…er… got outed and was finally walked 😂

So, no denial. Noted; while you don't strike me as someone who would ever have been a value-add, it's clear you've lost a step intellectually. I'm sincerely happy you no longer have any involvement in this nation's workforce, let alone a role that touches national security.

That’s a fair point. I may have gone a bit too far. But if it ever gets to a point where this becomes a threat to us, I will support boots on the ground, it is not my first choice, but if we absolutely need to, I would not be up in arms about it

I strongly encourage you to talk to actual veterans, and read up on books like Filkins' "The Forever War", Coll's "Ghost Wars", and "The Endgame" by Gordon and Trainor.

Oh yeah for sure. I clearly backed into the multiple patents I have hanging on the wall in my home office. And I’m lucky they never figured me out until after I made engineering fellow/dept level tech staff and then retired before they zeroed in on my worthlessness.

You missed your calling you should be an HR informer to defense contractors you clearly have a knack for sniffing out under performing freeloaders. 😂

ETA I don’t hate the MIC smooth brain. It’s an amazing career field and they do amazing work. My career turned out better than I could have ever hoped for and I got to work on a bunch of very challenging problems it was highly satisfying work. What I hate is the entire government procurement system and the inbred management and oversight at the top. And I was preaching that while I still worked there. I’ve said here many times $500 hammers make complete sense to me. The system is delivering exactly what it’s specified to deliver. In my nearly four decades of free loading I could see that clearly
