Iran

There seems damn few things in play there actually.
1. If there's any Iranians that want to see change from what they've been living under when will be the next time you'll actually have outside assistance of any kind?
2. If there's going to be a revolt against the established powers there's going to be blood. That's kind of how that sort of thing works.

Otherwise do nothing and hope your life under the current regime is good enough where you are now.

Yelp brainwashed for posting a tweet for yall to complain about. So who is the one really brainwashed.

Biden wouldn’t have even know what was going on. His staff would be doing everything like they were before and Harris would still be drunk
The people brainwashed are the ones who think there’s a good side that exists at all in politics. And you think there is a good side.

No one is saying that Iran was NO threat in the long-term. No one is saying the problem should be ignored.

The issue is that Trump et al have justified this particular action by claiming that Iran was an imminent threat. I am willing to listen to non-partisan intelligence that says that was true, and if so to end up agreeing to this. But so far, all sources (other than Trump, Hegseth, and their minions) say Iran was not an imminent threat.

And it comes off as being an excuse to have agreed to do Israel's bidding, especially given the first comments of Rubio and Johnson, since walked back by them.
The argument is not that there was an imminent threat. The argument was that the timing was right. Iran's economy was melting down, because of mismanagement. Specifically, the 4th largest bank in Iran failed, because it was owned by a crony of the Ayatollah. The owner was using the bank to fund his development projects, which failed. This happened in mid-December, 2025. Banks started to fail and Trump's maximum pressure sanctions were biting. Then the business men took to the streets and protests began. Inflation was starting to spiral, because the workers could not earn enough in a month to buy a loaf of bread. Tehran began running out of water, so Iran decided to move Tehran to the coast.

The protests continued until January 8-9, which the regime murdered somewhere around 30,000 of its own people. At that point Trump made the decision to go after the regime. This is an opportunity to drive a stake through the heart of Iran. Its about regime change.

If one believes Iran should not be allowed to have a nuclear weapon, then now is the time to stop it. 47 years of diplomacy did not stop Iran.

If it wasn't the 47 years of diplomacy that stopped Iran, then it was something, because the fact remains that Iran has never had a nuclear weapon.

Ahhh so we need to have regime change in Iran. Oh and stop Iran's nuclear program.

Ready to potentially sacrifice the lives of your children or grandchildren for these goals? Is it that important to you?

What happened to "America first" and promises of "No new wars"?

“Look, folks, we’re protecting this incredibly important shipping lane—very dangerous, very important, nobody knew how important until I said so. Our allies? They should be helping. They have to help. Frankly, they owe us. We do everything!”

[Pauses, adjusts mic]

“But also, we don’t need their help. We can do it ourselves. In fact, we’d probably do it better ourselves. The best protection, nobody protects straits like we do.”

Just here to remind everyone who isn't calling this year out as one big blunder from the executive branch (so far)...

It's still not too late to say "Yeah, this is kinda ****ed up."
After long last, I gotta ask... wtf is up w your avatar?

You've got some gap toothed, unidentifiable dude (Frodo Baggins?), squirrels with MAGA hats, flying cigarettes... I'm at a loss. Surely this must *mean* something. Or maybe... I'm just old and ignorant. Or both!

Lost a bet and haven't changed it.

Serves as a reminder that I ain't no b****, stick to my word, and love America so much I'd have sex with it if I could.

Gap-tooth man is Mac DeMarco. Fantastic musician. If you take anything from this, go listen to "Salad Days" from start to finish.

Shannon Kent died not in a "war manufactured by Israel," but at the hands of ISIS in Syria in 2019. The only thing manufactured here is her husband's disgusting attempt to blame Israel for his terrible loss.

And blaming Israel for US wars in both Iraq and now Iran is a tail wagging the dog trope that is as transparent as it is false.

If the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center cannot recognize the Islamic Republic's role in spreading terrorism that threatens both Americans and the rest of the world, then maybe he shouldn't have been in that position in the first place.

Honest Reporting
Are you sure about that? It seems I remember a certain Mr. Netanyahu pushing very hard for us to get into that quagmire.

Overwhelmingly?

It was a difference of 1.5%

And just because he is President and has the authority of that office does not mean there is a damn thing wrong with questioning his judgment, his motives, his temperament, or his candor.
She just released that to appease the boss. She didn't say she agrees with it.

So just how significant is this?

Kent is a highly imperfect messenger with a checkered past dating back to his failed campaigns for the US House. And that, combined with his extensive focus on Israel in his resignation letter, should trigger some alarms about precisely where his views are coming from.

At the same time, this is a retired Army Green Beret whom Trump saw fit to put in a high-profile intelligence job. And as the right wrestles with the United States’ first major new war in more than two decades, Kent may represent a portion of Trump’s coalition that is not totally on board with the war, especially the longer it drags on.

Is Kent a paragon of virtue whose letter is on-par with the great principled resignations of years past — people like Cyrus Vance, who in 1980 resigned as secretary of state in protest of Jimmy Carter’s ill-fated attempted rescue of American hostages in Iran?

No. But his move does signal some potential problems for Trump.

Kent is a complicated messenger

Kent is a former House candidate whose ties to White nationalists included giving an interview to a a Nazi sympathizer, CNN’s KFile previously reported. And while he tried to distance his campaigns from extremists, those associations may have hurt his efforts to win a swing seat in Washington state in both 2022 and 2024.

Kent has also promoted conspiracy theories, including that the intelligence community in which he would later serve was involved in planning or directing the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol. He was confirmed to his role in July despite losing the vote of Republican Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina.

Kent’s resignation letter Tuesday also turned more than a few heads for how often it invoked Israel.

Kent said that Israel “pressured” the United States into the Iran war. That’s a claim that isn’t exactly ridiculous next to Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s early commentary. (After the US first struck, Rubio said Iran posed an imminent threat because Israel was going to strike it, and Tehran would have retaliated by striking US targets. The administration later backed away from that version of its justification.)

😆

Ok. Makes sense.

"...Mac DeMarco famously stuck a drumstick up his anus during a drunken karaoke performance of U2's "Beautiful Day," an incident caught on video and later referenced in his song "Freaking Out the Neighborhood" as an apology to his mother for his rowdy behavior, leading to widespread notoriety and family embarrassment."

I mean been there, done that.

And this is why Mac is the man.
