Iran

Agree. But these systems have limitations. Plus Iran can literally chuck a bunch of mines in the water and voila. It’s blocked.
The U.S. has sank the majority of their navy. I can think up of various way to clear those either way. The bottom line is that if Iran could have done major damage, it would have already.

Good point. I'm sold, I like the idea of being able to send a 2000lbs round down range.
And unlike a missile, there is no countermeasure for a 16 inch shell. You can’t shoot it down, you can‘t jam its electronics. Once fired, if the trajectory is correct, the target has less than about 30 seconds to live. It is a pure kinetic killer.

Iowa??

You’d have to strip the 16’ guns out. Load it out with Tomahawk, SM-6, Naval Strike - essentially turn it into a missile barge.
Why would you have to strip the 16 inch guns? The USS Missouri fired multiple Tomahawk missiles into Iraq during operation Dessert Storm. They are set up for being a „missile barge“ already.
And unlike a missile, you can’t shoot down or intercept a 16 inch shell.

Favorite for Supreme Leader of Iran spent months being 'treated for impotency' in private UK hospitals, US intelligence reveals

Mojtaba Khamenei, the favorite to become the new Supreme Leader of Iran, was repeatedly treated for impotency at hospitals in the UK, according to a secret US intelligence document.

On Tuesday, Mojtaba, 56, was reportedly preparing to be named successor to his father Ali Khamenei, who was killed along with 48 other senior regime officials in America and Israel's ongoing Operation Epic Fury.

According to a classified briefing sent by the State Department to the US Embassy in London in 2008, and later released by WikiLeaks, Mojtaba was placed under pressure by his family to produce heirs.

It required four visits, including a final stay lasting two months, and he eventually had a son who was named 'Ali' after the baby's grandfather, the then Supreme Leader.

According to US intelligence, Mojtaba married relatively late in life in 2004. That was 'reportedly due to an impotency problem treated and eventually resolved during three extended visits to the UK.'

Those visits were to the Wellington and Cromwell Hospitals in London., according to the intelligence document

If named the next Supreme Leader he’ll still be impotent.

The Ayatollah released the black prisoners during the 1979 revolution specifically because he said we were oppressed enough here in America. Why would I have beef with them when they ain't got beef with us?
So, let me get this straight....

In the modern naval battlescape those 16 inch guns firing unguided projectiles have ass for targeting accuracy and precision. They are a relic of a time long gone. Harpoon, Tomahawk, or SM-2/3/4/6 VLS launchers would be much more effective

They definitely swear an oath to uphold the constitution, and going to war for Israel without congress declaring it is a violation of it. War Powers Act doesn't grant POTUS the right to make this emergency decision.
Here's the deal; we are Rome. Rome followed the path of true Republic, then the executive branch (Caesar, Emperor) became much more powerful. We have followed the same path thus far. The executive branch in this country has gained power steadily since the early 1900's, and especially since WWII. It has continued to gained power. This goes for both sides of the aisle, the executive branch will be the most powerful by far, and their is nothing that can be done about it outside of a complete restart. I, for one, am glad that I live in the greatest republic/empire that the world has ever seen. Just saying.

And a whole lot more expensive. Sometimes good ole brute steel still has a place. There was a reason the Marines fought to keep the Iowas in service. If you wanted to soften up a landing zone in Vietnam or Korea, you called in the battle wagons.
The Viet Cong especially hated the USS New Jersey

Considering there is no guided projectile for the 16” guns they are useless. In fact the Navy has struggled to field a 5” guided projectile for years. I think right now there is a rocket assisted hyper velocity variant they are playing with.

Its says we will die for the interests of a foreign nation over America?
It says the oath taker will follow the orders of the CIC and other superior officers. It does not say that each soldier should (like you) decide what to do based on his or her own conclusions derived from YouTube videos and asinine opinions.

They are absolutely useless and their indiscriminate fire accuracy would not be welcomed in the current battle space. Yeah they’re cool to watch a broadside but if that broadside can’t hit 💩 then it’s a useless weapon.
