Iran

The USS Gerald Ford is located in a position to primarily intercept missiles launched at Israel because we are prioritizing the protection of Israeli lives over our own soldiers. Google's AI even admits it when asked. This was the second bullet it stated as to why our government decided to park our most advanced carrier next to Israel:

Answer:
  • Protection of Israel: The Ford acts as a strategic shield, with its advanced Aegis missile defense systems and strike capabilities positioned to support Israel in case of regional conflict escalation, note this YouTube video and The Jerusalem Post.
And you’re suggesting putting it directly next to Iran to “protect” the 4500 members on board. Apparently you don’t even know where Bahrain and the UAE are.

Go ask your favorite LLM why the USS Gerald Ford is stationed next to Israel. The second bullet point literally says its to protect Israel. This is what Google's AI said when I typed this simple question into Google: "why the United States stationed the USS Gerald Ford next to Israel"

Answer:
  • Protection of Israel: The Ford acts as a strategic shield, with its advanced Aegis missile defense systems and strike capabilities positioned to support Israel in case of regional conflict escalation, note this YouTube video and The Jerusalem Post.
Now go ask, "Why does the US station troops in other countries? You will get something like this:

"The U.S. stations troops in other countries for a variety of reasons, which can generally be categorized into:

1. National Security and Defense

  • Deterrence: U.S. military presence in strategic regions can deter potential adversaries and prevent conflicts. By having troops readily available, the U.S. signals its commitment to regional stability and its ability to respond quickly to threats.
  • Rapid Response: Forward-deployed troops allow the U.S. to project power and respond rapidly to crises, humanitarian disasters, or emerging threats in various parts of the world without significant delays.
  • Counterterrorism: Many deployments are aimed at disrupting terrorist networks, training local forces to combat terrorism, and preventing attacks against the U.S. and its allies.
  • Intelligence Gathering: Military bases provide platforms for intelligence collection, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations, which are crucial for understanding global threats and protecting U.S. interests.

2. Alliance Building and Maintenance

  • Collective Security: The U.S. has mutual defense treaties with many countries (e.g., NATO, treaties with Japan, South Korea). Stationing troops in these countries reinforces these alliances, demonstrates commitment to their defense, and contributes to collective security.
  • Interoperability: Working and training with foreign militaries helps build interoperability, ensuring that allied forces can effectively operate together during joint operations, exercises, and crises.
  • Burden Sharing: While the U.S. bears a significant portion of its allies' defense costs, the presence of U.S. troops is also seen as a form of burden-sharing, as it contributes to the overall security of the host nation and the region.

3. Geopolitical Influence and Stability

  • Regional Stability: U.S. military presence can contribute to regional stability by balancing power dynamics, preventing aggression between states, and supporting security cooperation.
  • Protection of Economic Interests: Some deployments are aimed at safeguarding vital trade routes, energy supplies, and other economic interests crucial to global commerce and the U.S. economy.
  • Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief: Military assets and personnel can be quickly deployed to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in response to natural calamities or conflicts.
  • Promoting Democracy and Human Rights: In some cases, military presence can be used in conjunction with diplomatic efforts to support democratic transitions, protect human rights, and promote good governance, although this is a more complex and sometimes controversial aspect.

4. Training and Readiness

  • Training Opportunities: Overseas bases provide diverse training environments and opportunities for U.S. forces to train alongside host nation militaries, accustoming them to different terrains, climates, and operational challenges.
  • Logistics and Maintenance: These bases serve as crucial logistical hubs for maintenance, supply, and rest for military personnel, supporting global operations.
Historical Context: Many U.S. military deployments abroad originated after World War II and during the Cold War to counter Soviet expansion and ensure stability in key regions. While the nature of threats has evolved, the strategic rationale for a global military footprint has persisted, adapting to new challenges like terrorism and emerging great power competition.
The specific reasons and motivations can vary depending on the country and the geopolitical context."

Does that mean we prioritize lives all of our foreign allies over the lives or our servicemen? Are we beholden to all of them like we are to Israel? (in your view) Or does it mean that protecting our allies is something that our servicemen actually do?

If only someone were more versed in the limitations that authoritarian regimes put on access to decentralized communications webs, they wouldn't embarrass themselves on a regular basis with their posts on a message board.
Starlink and VPNs both provide the ability to bypass access controls on the Internet. I have worked in IT for almost 30 years. Believe me, information ALWAYS can get through.

After you start a war unprovoked you deserve to be punished. Iran didn't attack anybody. It was Israel that started this and the Epstein network holding our country hostage is aiding them. I for one consider Israel to be the greatest enemy to America.

I really hope that you fell and hit your head this morning.

So let me get this straight. You believe its the duty of the US government to prioritize the lives of Israeli citizens (i.e. our allies) over the lives of our own American soldiers?

I wouldn't sacrifice a single American life for the entire state of Israel. Our soldiers are supposed to protect us not another nation's citizens.

It was not a sleeper cell. It happened. There were some bad dudes. But it was just immigration enforcement, not anti-terror enforcement.

Since 9/11, I think we've disrupted two total sleeper cell plots. I don't think Iran was involved. None effectively executed, but fact check me on all that. Definitions of sleeper cells may vary

There are a lot of people anxious to use such isolated incidents, as terrible as they are, to paint all Muslims as a threat.

They might want to wait until the incoming missiles stop before they go near government, especially RG, facilities.
Certainly. The only point I was making was now is not the time to celebrate.

There are people in Iran that know where the remnants of the regime are holed up. The window is open - now is the time.

There are multiple posters that harbor complete disdain for Israel, but that are in no way anti-Semitic. A few of them in this thread right now.

Then there are others like @SquirrelOrange3 @ButchPlz & @Dobbs 4 Heisman whose unabashed Jew hatred simply radiates in everything they post.

So you like it when American soldiers die protecting another country while the soldiers of said country hide in bunkers like women and children?

I don't know how you can be an American and not seething in anger at these images after hearing 3 of our soldiers just died.

What have I posted that amounts to "Jew hatred"?

Repeating the post of a little piglet because you can't think for yourself is real smooth.

EDIT: still waiting for the smoothbrain.

Maybe they will exterminate all those disgusting, vile murderers. This is 100% why we need to not allow those radical Islamic terrorist into our country.

wow…. Using the death of Americans to push your anti-Israel views is pretty low. I’ve never had a single post in support of any war or decision made by Israel; but I’d never use an American’s death to promote my hate for a nation.
Why has he been allowed to hijack this thread?

I agree. We don't need any foreigners in our country. After the Muslim terrorists let's proceed with the Israelis involved in the Epstein files. Or is your policy of removing bad actors only limited to Muslims?

The difference between me and you is I'm consistent. I prioritize Americans first and foremost over any outsiders whether they are Muslims or Israeli. I've noticed however that yall don't keep the same energy for the Epstein folk that you do these crazy Muslims.
