Iran

We've literally been toppling governments and killing world leaders for most of the last century. When's the last time Iran invaded another country? When's the last time Iran toppled a foreign government?

It's wild how the average American has no idea how flagrant we move around the world compared to everyone else. There's a reason so many people hate us. It's not because we're free or whatever other platitudes Fox News brainwashed Americans to believe. It's because we do things on the world stage nobody else does. We invade countries with impunity. We drop bombs wherever we want. Our intelligence agency is killing and murdering people all around the world that stand against American interests.

We're literally the world's bully and you're surprised we're hated?
Lol, comedy. You call out one news station but you ignore all the anti-america stations. Iran just pays terror groups to do its bidding. I believe you guys would have defended hitler

Oh cuz the guy that got bombed over and over and over said so.
He has a point. We wasted a dozen good bombs. Israel used up half billion of defense stuff.

June 26, 6.45 a.m. EDT In his first televised statement his country’s ceasefire with Israel went into effect, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei claimed the U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities didn’t have any major impact and claimed that President Donald Trump acted out of “showmanship.”

In a post on X Khamenei also wrote: “I offer my congratulations on the victory over the fallacious Zionist regime,” and claimed Israel “was practically knocked out and crushed under the blows of the Islamic Republic.”
Khamenei also claimed victory against the U.S. and suggested Washington entered the conflict “because it felt” Israel from being completely destroyed.

Well isn't that just silly. So this whole we're the best country thing is a cope like how all women think they're 10s?

I don't engage in silly nonsense like that. If I say America is the best then it's based on empirical evidence or experience and not on making myself feel better.
Why is it silly? You are arguing against a claim that I haven't even made. I've never said that the US is "the best" or "the greatest" country.

I don't know from personal experience because I've only lived here, but I'm assuming there are other countries on this Earth that are also great places to live. I've never believed the US has a monopoly on being a great place to live. All I know is that I was born here, and I love it, so this is home and I think it is a great country.

And we have the CIA that assassinates world leaders that don't let our corporations exploit the natural resources of nations.

Just because you label them terrorists and our guys spies doesn't change the reality that both nations are engaging in the same behavior.

The Trump narrative on this has sadly and completely predictably turned to:

"How dare you question us on this ???!!! It's outrageous! For you to question whether the strikes actually caused the result Trump claimed is to attack the competence of our brave soldiers and airmen!!"

No one is buying it.

And irony is, the Ayatollah over there says that the strikes had no effect. Guess what? He's lying too. But in our country, unlike his, we get to demand the answers and not accept the word of political allies, all falling in, in lockstep to Dear Leader saving face.

And when we do question it, and the press do pose tough questions to Trump in the form of confronting him with his own words Saturday versus at least some the intelligence expressing doubt, that cannot be equated to criticism of the armed forces.

Trump should spend less time wrapping himself in the flag as a deflection of criticism of him, and more time thinking about how he has yet again learned that his bragging and making grandiose claims he does not know for sure are correct, bites him in the azz yet again.

He's still better than any of your pro Marxist politicians

Well you said if you lived in another country you would think it was the best too. Basically implying you have no objective measure of what makes a country better than another but are just going off what makes you feel good. It's pretty silly. If you're gonna say something like America is the best country on earth it would be nice if you had some objective reasons for that other than you just live there.

It is simple math. The bombs could go down 25 feet. The goody room is at 300 ft. Here are the equations..

Showmanship like P.T. Barnum

No I didn't. I said if I was born and raised in those countries, I would probably think they were great countries too. I've also never said that what makes a country great is what makes me "feel good." You're doing the classic internet thing and arguing against arguments that haven't actually been made.

I am not saying the bombing was unjustified or that it had no effect.

I am critical of Trump for overclaiming the effect to pat himself on the back. And subsequent to that I am critical of him and the administration for not taking a more responsible line a few days later and simply saying there are mixed reviews on this, we are evaluating and will comment again when we have firmer conclusions to offer.

That's all he has to do.

irans nuclear sites cost them 2-3 trillion to build (with sanctions). If and I do say if their sites are destroyed, or deemed not usable. Who won?

How long did it take to build those facilities?
Years i assume. It took 12 days to make them useless.

Wow. Once in the last 9 years. You might be moving toward the right. In another millennium you might be slightly right of Bernie.

I have given him credit for his covid response. Other things, too, can't remember them all. I'm at the moment focusing my comments, not on the merits of the strikes, but on him being such a loudmouth braggart about it and putting himself in a corner.

Yet again.

So he's a braggart. BFD. Untwist your panties and see that he also brags on our country unlike Soetoro or Puddinhead. I guess 12 years of their apology tours got me a little miffed.

It seems the CNN story about about Trump greatly exaggerating the effectiveness of the strikes is at odds with today's briefing.

Once again you have no evidence Iran is an irrational actor. If anything Israel is the main aggressor in the middle east considering how many countries they've bombed in just last 6 months. We just live in a country where we're force fed propaganda that says Muslims bad Israel good so the average white American just goes with that lie because they don't know better.
How many of those countries did Israel sneak into, rape and murder women and little girls, and cook their babies in the microwave. Also, love how you slide a little good ole fashion racism in just for good measure.

To be fair none of us have been given 1/1000th of the opportunity he has.

If he was a self made man I'd be impressed. Something to be said for building wealth though. Most silver spoon children squander their wealth
Some people make opportunities, others make excuses. Trump would’ve been successful coming from nothing; probably not as successful but some are wired differently. He’s one of them. He’s an Ahole but he has a drive most politicians don’t possess. A lot of people would’ve quit during the lawfare or the assassination attempt.
