You are not excluded from "people," your stance on Iran in this thread has almost exactly matched that of the government you "distrust," and includes a bunch of assumptions that are just things the government told you

I'm on record repeatedly stating that I think both political parties are corrupt, power-mongering, liar scum-sucking excrement, and that if I have a tendency to give Trump the benefit of the doubt, it's because his treatment at the hands of the swamp is a great indication that he's an outsider that's trying to disrupt their two-party, deep state shenanigans.

So, if I seem too soft on Trump, it's precisely BECAUSE of my distrust of the gov't. Just look for my comment in THIS thread about the US sucking horribly at picking regimes in regime changes, and this gov't history that got us here.

And yah. You jumped from me to "most" of the board in this thread. It's a bad look and lazy thinking.

I appreciate that you've talked yourself into this but it's bull****. Trump is the President, he's not more trustworthy than other government officials because you think he made other government officials mad. He is the literal head of the government you "distrust" and the "swamp" has recently been aligning itself with everything he does

The Iranian people, by and large, are Persian and want a government similar to the USA. The problem is with the radical regimes that have controlled that country since the Shah was expelled in the late 1970s. In the early 2000s, we spent close to a billion dollars trying to establish liberation factions within their citizens. Unfortunately, it didn't work. With too many proxy relationships with radical groups to overcome, we couldn't gain any headway with the country.

The money "we" were spending on this was from mostly private sources.

There are African countries that also have the death penalty for homosexuality (including Uganda which is majority Christian). Capital punishment for homosexuality - Wikipedia

So are those countries also evil and worthy of us attacking? My point there wasn't to say Iran is perfect or even somewhere I would want to live. I simply object to the caricature of them as somehow being worthy of our military aggression because of some inherent quality.

The Iranian government and people aren't any different than any other government or people. They have good and bad elements. They are also influenced by actions of others. They aren't some rabid demons who were born looking to kill us. If Iran hates America it's probably for a good reason given what we've done to them. So if we were to stop meddling in their affairs and establish normal relations like Russia and China then maybe they look at us like they do Russia and China rather than looking at us as an enemy.

Iran didn't come out the womb hating America. That's the only point I was trying to make.

I don't blame you for thinking that, but the iran/iraq war killed 500,000 people. Based on that, total casualties must have been a couple million. Everybody else in this is a toddler.

Then explain why so many in the right continually fall for the trick that we need to be in the middle east? The Iraq War and Covid-19 were exactly the same psy-op. The left wisely didn't fall for the Iraq War hoax cause they're not blinded by irrational hatred of people who are different from them. The right unfortunately fell for it. However, when the Covid-19 hoax came around the left fell for it hook line and sinker because they couldn't believe the government scientists would lie to them. The right however was correct in their skepticism because they don't worship at the alter of academia and science.

I'm a black man who leans conservative so I didn't fall either psy-op. I don't think Muslims hate us for no reasons so the government can never get me to back them on dumb wars in the Middle East and I don't believe doctors and scientists simply because they went to a prestigious university or support leftist causes.

Things never change in this country because the left and right are both blind to their biases hence why they're so easy to control.
