Iran

The Democrats are great at somehow being able to build name recognition through candidates who do basically nothing but lose elections (Beto and Stacy Abrams).
I don't think they (or Republicans) care so much about winning, having a platform, or doing much of anything for the wellness of our people as long as the donations keep flowing.

Since getting cut from fox he’s talked about how he had terrible opinions on foreign policy. Most notably Apologized for his support of the Iraq war and said that was the biggest mistake of his career. You can also not want to go to war with Iran and still think their leadership is bad

Idk why we view it as a bad thing or a gotcha when someone changes their opinion from 20 years ago. It should be welcomed especially in politics
Tucker is a trend follower - I highly doubt he's changing out of some kind of genuine change of heart. He's been very good in his career of figuring out which way the wind is blowing and adjusting his message accordingly. Apologizing for your support of the Iraq War is easy; it's extremely unpopular even among people who cheered for it the loudest 25 years ago.

He was a a big neocon interventionist in the early 2000s, became a libertarian/small government guy during the Obama/Tea Party years, and now is a populist in the Trump years. He's great at adopting whatever the conservative flavor du jour is.

Israel largely exists due to the benevolence of the American government and taxpayers, yet if I take issue with the fact that my unwilling "investment" is being abused by their (literally on trial for) corrupt government I am an anti-semite. It's quite a leap.
No, those aren’t what make you an anti-Semite. You have every right to take issue with your investment.

Agreed. Do you know why he was fired from Fox? I probably could look it up.

See? Immediately jumping to calling me an anti-semite again without any rhyme or reason. It's as lazy as calling everyone racist, which you've done, and acting like everyone that doesn't get a shot should die, which you've also done.

It's ridiculous, immoral, and sick. You're not a good person. And this all comes to a head especially when we are looking at something like our nation going to war, and especially because your nonchalant laziness and the nonchalant laziness of people just like you is why my growing family is going to end up having to pay for all of this. The non-standards, entitlement, and trust of the damn TV that boomers have are dooming the generations that follow with debt and suffering. But who cares? You have yours and you can feel good because go Israel!

Age does not mean wisdom. It also does not earn respect. We're all here trying to learn and grow and not repeat mistakes and all you can muster is calling me an anti-semite.

One can look at it that way but one can also understand that Carlson has just terrible judgment.

I just agreed with you and you went off, what am I missing?

Maybe it’s genuine maybe it’s not. I don’t think anyone can say for certain. My point wasn’t specifically for him, we see it all the time where people post politicians opinions from 20 years ago and don’t expect them to change it’s silly.

I’d say he’s still libertarian/small government probably even more so than he showed during Obama

I don’t even care for him I just like listening to his podcasts depending on the guest

There was a pending discrimination lawsuit that a former Fox employee had filed against him, plus he just wore out his welcome there (everybody hated him). Rightly or wrongly (and based on the ratings, it seems like wrongly) they thought anybody in that time slot could generate the same ratings, so they just cut him loose.

Tucker is one of the few people who is just as popular, maybe even more popular, after leaving the big platform they were on. Most people fade into oblivion after doing that, even in this internet era.

We're just going to glaze over how apparently everyone is now bought by Qatar now, of all countries?

PS: why is it OK to make unprovable claims about someone being "bought by Qatar" when we can provably claim that our politicians (and many in the media) receive heavy support from Israeli interests?
I don't know who he's been bought by, but his complete about face and clearly focused agenda would indicate he's certainly someone's man.

He isn't libertarian at all anymore. Huge protectionist, huge legal immigration skeptic, etc.

I'm not saying that people aren't allowed to change their mind. I'm just saying that Tucker seems to make very convenient changes based on what's popular and trendy at the time in conservative circles. He never really espouses opinions that are unpopular with the people who listen to him.

It’s really amazing the opportunities a political commentator has where they don’t have to rely on the big networks anymore.

It's credibility, he's admitted he isn't credible and influenced by others........ Either then or now.

His schitck hasn't really changed, just the agenda. That makes me respect him even less. He may be right, I don't know, but he's simply not credible any longer.

I am someone who is super cynical about our politicians. I see very little evidence politicians care about anything more than winning and retaining power. Problems (like immigration) don't get fixed because fixing them would cede power. Money and donations are the priority because it helps with the gaining and retaining the power.

Frankly, I don't know how any of the partisans here continue to beat a drum for their side considering how abysmal our "leaders" are.

You have a reading comprehension problem.
Nobody called you that. He’s literally saying your example is not what would make you or anyone else an antisemitism.

Quit trying to be a victim
Thanks for your opinion. It's invalid, considering your history of twisting and lying, and the fellow has called me an antisemite before, but thanks anyway.

I do not want to answer for Mad but I’m not sure that is what he meant

Or he has changed. As a young man I was pro-Iraq war, pro-Afghanistan war, and on and on. As I've grown up and worked directly in the field where the "game" is played, and I've seen the suffering of soldiers in my friend group, family, and colleagues, my opinion has done a total 180.

I see suffering here in the US every day. I'm not going to be such an ******* that I volunteer more Americans, and more American resources, to fruitless causes that benefit only one group of people that are not interested in the well-being of my countrymen. That's not being bought, it's the exact opposite.
