I'd think that Oman has their own ideas about that. Now Witkoff and Kushner are joining Vice President JD Vance for new talks in Islamabad.
So the US must still ultimately negotiate with whatever leaders it can find in Iran. The regime has maintained that, as a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Iran is within its legal ability to enrich uranium for an energy program.
In exchange for putting that aside, the regime is likely, just as in the Obama era, to insist on the lifting of sanctions on Iran’s oil. But now Iran will also want to formalize its control of the Strait of Hormuz, which means the regime could have more power than it did before.
It’s not going to happen. I think this might be the main reason the US attacked Iran. Letting Iran do this gives them too much control over the oil of the region. A nuclear Iran would tell the rest of the world to FO and dare someone to stop them. Now Witkoff and Kushner are joining Vice President JD Vance for new talks in Islamabad.

It sounds like you have a narrow view of what's going on in the world. The last time I paid much attention, there was more terrorism in South America and South Asia from non-Muslims than there was elsewhere from self-described Muslims, and that was well after 9/11.Not in Europe, the world. How many Christian suicide bombers have you heard of? Has there been a Baptist Jihad? Radical Islam is one of the biggest threat to peace anywhere.

What are the major threats to world peace today? There's Russia with Ukraine, Israel with their neighbors, PRC with ROC, NK with SK, and who else?
