Iran

As an example, I flipped over to MSNBC and one of their commentators talked of the 150 injured US military personnel. In listening you would think that they were all extreme casualties, but the majority have returned to their posts.
That seems like very shaky ground to claim they want failure. Especially when the admin has been less than truthful about casualties.

How much we give them a year? Sure it isn't our money?
Why is this such a big deal? I get why many don't want taxpayer money going to foreign countries but that ship has sailed. Once they get the aid, they damn well better buy their arms from us. If they used that money and bought the arms from China or Russia then Americans would have a lot to moan about. Of course they're going to buy from us as they should

It's a big deal bc they get it in the first place. That's kind of the end of discussion

No it does not end the discussion for me. The $$$'s are flowed back to US companies producing the material. Weapons are used for their security and they are our partner in fighting terrorism in the region.

There are talks of a 20 year partnership agreement when this one expires and hopefully it is implemented.

Sure but that is mainly due to insurance which is why Trump proposed insuring the vessels.
No. It's because captains and their crews don't want to die. Your misunderstanding of the Hormuz situation continues.

If it were purely an insurance issue, by your own admission they could get it from the US.

Talking about the 150 servicemen is yearning for your country to fail? Should they not talk about the injuries and deaths?

Yes, that is the impression I got.
Should they not talk about the injuries and deaths?
No they should report it. Wished they mentioned most reporting back to duty.

You can watch if need be as you may get the positive message from their reporting.

The cost of war should be shoved in our faces until we demand that Congress does it job and actually declare war. This executive overreach has to stop

It's not their job to root against it either

Personally I think all Americans should root for a quick military success over there. I get why Aljazeera would root against American success
I heard one guy today talking about how a lot of the media and even democrats are saying this is going bad for us. Yet that just doesn't line up with what's happening in theater. In the first 10 minutes they killed the Ayatollah and the vast majority of the IRGC command. The Iranian Air Force & Navy is gone, Their ability to launch missiles and drones has dropped to about 10%, everytime they sneak a launcher out and fire, air assets are tracking it back to the launcher and taking it out.

It really gets on my nerves when these reporters ask when this going to end and it been only 7 or 8 days. Can you imagine Ernie Pyle or Bill Mauldin asking Eisenhower 8 days after D-Day why you haven't went more than 10 miles inland

These reporters would go catatonic at Guadalcanal when they found out it took 6 months and 7,000 Americans killed and another 7k injured to defeat an island that was 100 miles long and only 30 miles wide.

According to reports, the new supreme leader of the regime in Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, is severely injured and is currently on life support in the ICU of the Sina hospital. He is reportedly unaware that the war started or that his father is dead.

You’re very wrong. Ships are continuing to travel through the strait. There’s been no reported attack in the last two days. The last two attacks were 3-7 and 3-8 by suicide drone with minimal damage and 0 loss of life from either attack.

Iran isn’t what you wish they were
You're wrong. As usual.

Right now, **far fewer oil tankers are passing through the Strait of Hormuz than normal** because of the ongoing conflict involving Iran. Here’s the current situation as of **March 2026**:

### Current traffic (very low)

* In early March, **only a handful of ships per day** have been crossing the strait. ([S&P Global][1])
* On **March 9**, tracking data showed **just 3 ships** transiting the strait. ([S&P Global][1])
* On **March 8**, only **2 crossings were recorded**, both Iranian-flagged vessels. ([Windward][2])
* Over **March 1–9**, only **39 cargo vessels total** crossed the strait, with many days in the **single digits**. ([USNI News][3])

### Compared to normal

* Normally **100+ cargo vessels a day** pass through the strait. ([Lloyd's List][4])
* Before the recent conflict began (late February), **around 37 oil tankers per day** were transiting. ([Reuters][5])
* The strait typically carries **~20% of the world’s oil supply**. ([U.S. Energy Information Administration][6])

### Why traffic dropped

Several reasons are causing ships to avoid the area:

* Threats that Iran could **mine or close the strait**. ([USNI News][3])
* Attacks and military activity in the region. ([Wikipedia][7])
* Shipping companies suspending voyages due to **war-risk insurance and safety concerns**. ([Wikipedia][7])
* Some tankers waiting in the Persian Gulf or rerouting elsewhere.

### What’s still moving

* A **small number of tankers**, often linked to Iran or “shadow fleet” shipping, are still transiting. ([The Wall Street Journal][8])
* Overall oil movement through the strait has been estimated at **about 20% of normal levels** recently. ([The Wall Street Journal][9])

✅ **Bottom line:**
No—**there aren’t many oil vessels currently passing through the Strait of Hormuz.** Traffic has dropped dramatically from dozens per day to **just a few ships daily** because of the current conflict and security risks.

If you want, I can also show you **a live ship-tracking map of the strait** so you can see how many tankers are actually there right now.
