Not everyone forward deploys. Not everyone spends massive amounts of time away from family. In fact, it's much, much less than you think.Damn dude…. Just piss all over everyone that’s ever served. That had to be deployed and away from their families and their children for extended periods of time…. That were wounded, maimed or killed…. That held support roles to keep the military functioning…. That washed planes and cleaned flight suit catheters as you say.
Your opinion is your right, but in this case it’s incredibly F’ed up.
I'm happy to die on it.
At some point boomers have to realize the world they think exists, doesn't.
The military is and has been largely a welfare program for at least 30 years, if not longer. But because they have cool camo and a miniscule percentage of them go fight, all of them deserve respect? There's nuance involved. Blanket praising people for their decisions is idiotic.
And once again, being in that type of role and rah rahing bloodshed when you have no risk means you're fully open to be **** on.You can't be serious with this answer.
Whether the individual was in direct action units, infantry, motorpool, supply, etc.. They enlisted, gave their oath at MEPS and proceeded to move forward with their chosen MOS. You don't have to show respect, that's your choice. Don'ton them though.
Reddit is the world's largest collection of 13 to 20yo Incel males. The average political view is somewhere Left of Lenin. Anything even remotely Conservative or even pro-US is immediately downvoted into oblivion by the faceless masses...unless its in 2 or 3 of the only Conservative subreddits like ( r/ Conservative). Which you must first be approved in advance to be able to even post in those couple threads...which is done because otherwise every single post in them would get hundreds of ignorant skinny jeans wearing morons commenting whatever CNN said about it from their mom's basements.
It is probably the most ignorant place on the internet. The % of involuntary virgins on there that cannot choose the correct homophones like your/you're and to/too comprise more than half the posters in most threads. If reddit were an accurate cross section of American society I would probably emigrate. The amount of support (anonymously ofc) for Socialism, Communism, gun grabbers, criminals, illegal aliens (also criminals), any country except their own US etc is actually disgusting.
The ignorance on that site is truly something to behold. If you stick solely to 1 specific subreddit focused on something (like my exact motorcycle) it can be interesting and even helpful finding parts etc. If you mention anything remotely Conservative or honest pertaining to life or politics, prepare to be banned at least temporarily. I recently made the mistake of leaving my specific bike subreddit, and commented in the thread about the recent tranny that murdered those people in the shooting in Canada. I merely said " no way the mass shooter is another "trans" person. The TV says that doesn't happen." I got banned for 3days for " promoting hate or violence towards a group of people."They have a very Leftist algorithm that erases posts and gives bans, followed up by Leftist humans who do the same. The main feed there is truly a cesspool of stupid on a scale not seen many other places.
I know several personally that have been deployed. One several times and another that is currently deployed. Not everyone forward deploys. Not everyone spends massive amounts of time away from family. In fact, it's much, much less than you think.

EDIT: next time I see you all thanking State Department employees, Peace Corps members, USAID contractors, etc. etc. for their service because they went somewhere without their families I'll have a little more respect for the argument. Military is far from the only job with sacrifices.
Great. What are the numbers across the entire military for what you're describing? See also the edit on my post.I know several personally that have been deployed. One several times and another that currently deployed.
Everyone that signed up knew there was a possibility of deployment though.
To characterize the active military and vets as welfare recipients is in bad taste bro…. It just is
That jackass is a self described Communist and a Muslim who supports his brethren taking over Western Europe. When thats a person's mindset and frame of reference...everything they say is worthless BS and I will not waste a second of my life listening to their drivel. We don't need to welcome ANYONE else to this nation right now either. We still have about 15million illegals his Democrats allowed to walk into our country unvetted at our borders that need to be deported. Including many radical muslims from MENA whose terrorist acts we may be dealing with for decades.Wanting the president to abide by the constitution while also telling Iranians they’re happily welcome in New York is revealing what loyalties?
We had a guy in my neighborhood who's family fled when the Shah fell. He was a good soccer player - or good compared to us in 1979 which isn't saying much.
I typically agree with most of your points, but you’re openly spitting on the military.Great. What are the numbers across the entire military for what you're describing? See also the edit on my post.
I never characterized all military members as welfare recipients. But this gung-ho attitude of treating Vets as demigods has lead to billions of fraud with disability abuse, set aside business abuse, and on and on and on.
You all act like I'm making **** up.
