Dang shame what realignments, expansions has done to rivalry games.

This is the 109th consecutive meeting between these two schools, a run that dates to 1917. Yet in 2027, there will be no scheduled game; Farmageddon's streak will be a casualty of conference realignment.

Farmageddon's run of games is longer than Texas-Oklahoma, Michigan-Ohio State and the Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn. While Iowa State-Kansas State will be played again in future seasons, any break feels unfortunate.

If both miss the playoffs next year, a smart committee should match them up in a bowl game.

I'm typically a fan of Chris Klieman, but I'm sorry, going for it on 4th and 1 on his own 29-yard line, down by only 3 with over 6 minutes left in the game was a reckless, unsound decision that frankly should not be seen at this level of the profession! I don't know what it is with these modern coaches, who seem to either ignore or be completely ignorant of certain coaching strategies/philosophies that are DECADES tried and true! Suddenly every coach wants to act like a savant and think they are the smartest person in the room instead of sticking with what works! Sometimes punting to flip the field and playing defense IS the winning strategy! WOULD have K-State won if Klieman decided to punt in that scenario? Maybe, maybe not. But putting your defense in a position to have to defend less than half the field while already trailing, as opposed to say, 70%-80% of the field, that is incompetency!

All coaches are doing this crap now. Heupel went for it on 4th down from like our own 10 against UF last year. It worked out but it was a massive risk and had we not gotten that it would’ve been the beginning of the end for him here.

My only guess is coaches are trying now to anticipate momentum swings and stop them from happening no matter the risk, as opposed to playing the percentages and try and overcome momentum.
