Lol, so what do you propose to do to stop when a guy hits them with someone in his face? You don't like the answer but at least half of the 3s made were very contested. Tell us what you're supposed to do there?

I’m glad we got Iowa.

Cincinnati has a lot of length that would have gave us fits.

Seemed pretty prepared first half. Second half they disappeared, which is the one thing that infuriates me about the team. They can't sustain leads.

I'm mad about the 3 point shooting but today I have no idea what a team is supposed to do. At least half if not more of the shots were contested. You can't stop that.

Iowa is very bipolar. Typical team of having bad losses mixed in with some great wins. They did beat Michigan and Big 12 champ Iowa state, but then lost to a team like Rutgers

Yep, IMO our biggest problem was settling for bad threes way too often on offense. They baited is into it, and we kept trying to have a three point shooting contest.

That is a problem. If we don't fall for it and play our offense, we would stay ahead. But we seem to panic a bit and try to play their game.

And as much as people want to blame Barnes, there's only so much he can do. Several times he was irate at our guys for doing that, and I'm sure he said "Hey stop", but if they don't listen what exactly is he supposed to do? Bench everyone and play the scrubs?

There has been an issue with our 2nd team players maintaining the leads our starters produce. That allows teams to get back into games and build confidence. I think it is an indication that our true depth isn't near what we hoped it was or would be. We see a large dropoff when we sub out multiple starters.

Today, we did well to regain control during the first half and building a large halftime lead. We just came out cold shooting in the second half and wouldn't get the ball into the paint to Grant. He took 7 shots today, and I bet only 2 of those came in the 2nd half. That can't happen.

Agreed. He was visibly pissed multiple times and was tearing into people. You would think these guys would have learned by now that they're a lot better inside out.

Iowa is a good draw. Purdue would be a little tough with Haas, but we could definitely win. Villanova is the team that scares me most prior to Virginia.

Of course Virginia would be a dogfight.

We have a good path though, but we need to peak.

Of course, the contested threes they made were offset by the wide open 3s they missed or those that rimmed out.

We didnt control the tempo nor did we look prepared against the pack zone...

It's natural to look ahead in a game like this. I expect a much more focused effort Sunday

Iowa plays up to their competition. I expect a very very competitive game from both sides. To the victor goes the sweet 16

I completely agree. Very solid d on most of the threes today. Left a few open but when they are just lights out and banking sh** in what the hell are you to do
