Your women. I want to buy your women. The little girl, your daughters... sell them to me. Sell me your children

"Trade you this ear of corn, maybe two, for that woman. She'll make me good sammiches. The little one, we'll use for meat."

I can't help but think that there would be a better and more creative way to express that than this thing. This is a trophy for a football game, not a livestock competition at the state fair.

Controversial Cy-Hawk trophy will be replaced - ESPN

"Nobody liked it. I think the best comment I heard was, `That's going to the losers, right'?" said Liz Ulin, a 23-year-old senior studying health science. She said she grew up in a tiny farming community south of Iowa City and knows many farm families, but the depiction on the trophy had nothing to do with football.

Went to school with her. Not sure why anyone cares about a girls opinion when it comes to football :p

But seriously, our classes(not classrooms) consisted of 80 kids and she was in FFA. Out of all the quotes and comments they could have gotten, this is the one the article/ESPN went with. Mmmmkay

That trophy was the biggest mistake since. . . . . shoot, cant even think of anything bigger than that. That thing was horrible.

Glad they came to their senses. Iowa fans travel (to their phones and email) well.

The scary thing is that there was more than one person who thought that trophy was a good idea.

since they cost us our beer barrel, I'm not even sure why we have to even play that end of the year scrimmage anymore.

Uh... they didn't get rid of it. A couple years ago, Kentucky told the press that they thought we had discontinued the presentation of the trophy, because they hadn't seen it in nearly 30 years.

Then do a trophy in the shape of an ear of corn. It's the weird family thing that makes no sense.

Maybe they are taking the family, football and corn angle.... How about three ears of corn surrounding a football or maybe stalks of corn growing ears of footballs.

Either would be better than what they came up with. It's not that a reference to the state's agriculture is problematic, it's just that I fail to see the reference with the family trophy, and I think others would as well.
