Invasion on the southern border:

Isn't that how you get the citizenry to vote for you? By doing what they want? His post was 100% about doing what Hispanics want so they would vote for him.

The intent of representative government is not to get votes and not to maintain power. While it often devolves to that it is not the intent of the system.

Besides, as POTUS he is a representative of all citizens not just Hispanics.

President Barack Obama plans a major speech on immigration reform Thursday night, and none of the three major networks plan to cover it.

CNN reported that neither NBC, ABC or CBS will air President Obama's speech. (CNBC, Fox News, and MSNBC will cover the event.) The president is scheduled to speak at 8 p.m. ET, likely to lay out a proposed executive action on the politically explosive and highly contentious immigration issue.

None of the three networks plan to air Obama speech.

Interesting, but since the majority of Americans get their news from the Comedy Network, I'm sure they'll be airing it.

"influx of largely low-skill workers provides some benefits to the economy as a whole, it also threatens to depress further the wages of blue-collar Americans and puts strains on an already overburdened safety net.”

Can you guess who?

Don't sweat it. McDonald's will be paying $30 an hour.

Obama, in his own mind, believes he is a modern day King. He believes he can ignore the Constitution, as well as the will of a majority of the American people.

Long live King Obama.

Curious as to your Constitutional analysis. Please include specific citation to your legal authorities.

(Hint: screeching blog posts are not authority)

How about if we just quote the Constitutional scholar himself when he publicly stated he does not have the authority to suspend deportations by himself.

Was he wrong then or now?

Fact check: Obama's immigration amnesia

Meh, all those comments are just the usual political blah blah blah. Nothing in there about the constitutionality of specific executive action. And since you don't know the specific at this point, you really can't say.

But I am not naive. I realize that whatever he proposes to do, you guys will say it's unconstutuonal. Even if it isn't.

You don't actually care if it is. You just want to proclaim he's acting unconstitutionally so you can support acky crap like impeachment. Or at least more partisan gridlock. It's pretty obvious what's coming and where you're coming from.

He has repeatedly stated that what he plans to do he cannot legally do and here you are defending him and hurling insults at people calling him out for this.

It's staggering how you are defending him - simply staggering.

For the record - I do not want impeachment, gridlock etc. I do expect the POTUS to be a person of integrity and follow the law regardless of party.

Why did he lie saying there would be a resolution in September yet put it off? I'm sure it had nothing to do with the mid term elections. Now he's butthurt the dems had their asses handed to them and pulling this bs. I think this is a drop in the bucket and Barry will show his true colors before the end. Ignoring the Constitution won't be s***.

I typically don't mind you taking the devil's advocate position on a lot of things (and I know there is now way you believe in half the crap you defend on here)

But when are you going to give up defending actions you know are indefensible?

I really don't know yet because I don't know exactly what the plan is or what the arguments are, for and against. The details haven't been released.

I do hope in any event that this causes Congress to enact meaningful reform. But I am realistic.

Would you not agree with me the the GOP is pretty much hopelessly conflicted on this issue ?

No, because the GOP hasn't even been given the chance to promote a plan and have meaningful debate with Obama on the matter. He is taking the coward's way out of this by hiding behind an Executive Order instead of waiting until January to see what reforms, real reforms that can be debated and agreed to by both sides, are brought to the table.

He is doing this as yet another middle finger to Congress and the American People and daring them to do anything about it. For someone who railed against increased Executive Power during the campaign(s), he certainly has become exceedingly comfortable with using his pen and phone.

I see this mostly as a ploy to show his power since Republicans took over the majority. If anyone actually thinks he cares about illegal immigrants they are mistaken. It is and will always be political.

It'll be on msnbc deportes and telemundo

To be fair, the broadcast networks (ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox) were not asked for time by the administration, hrmm wonder why???

But you are right...

Univision Network will air the POTUS announcement regarding Executive Action on Immigration live tomorrow. We will proceed with our coverage plans for the Latin GRAMMY’s, immediately following the President’s remarks. Complete coverage of the announcement, reactions and what it means for the US will be covered across Univision’s news platforms, as well as on the Network’s “Despierta America” morning show.

Fellow Spanish language network Telemundo will also be showing the President’s speech live with reaction and analysis to follow at least until 9 PM.

As I've stated many times before, I know LG doesn't believe half the crap he spews forth on here and plays Devil's Advocate most of the time. He's a lawyer and like most, probably likes to argue. So tossing out the most insane ideas he can to get a response and debate the matter.

If he was a simple minded, uneducated fool, I wouldn't say this. But I doubt very much he's a dimwit
