Intimidating Linebackers

I can't believe you guys are waiting to see what Kongbo can do. He just doesn't have the athletic ability. He will never be more than an average player in the SEC. He should have bulked up and played down at DE. That's my two cents.

I'm excited that we have a complete set of linebackers...Bituli and Kirkland inside could be something special. I think Sapp will be special on the outside.

Bituli is the stud of the group. If a single A player gets an SEC scholarship, he is the real deal. The dude is a tackling machine and honestly is a level ahead of every linebacker we have, even Kirkland.

So you know more than Pruitt and Rumph where Kongbo should play... interesting.

I tell you what. You get 4 studs on the field with the mantle of Al Wilson and every opponent will be a defeated one soon.

He was bulked up, the coaches trimmed him back down to his ideal weight and will be playing him at OLB that will at times have his hands in the dirt also. Rumph even talked about how much he liked Kongbo stating he played out of position under Jones and at the wrong weight. Kongbo has a excellent group of coaches with him now that sees his natural position on the field vs Jones.. And what I keep hearing in interviews, these coaches teach.. And constantly teach.. Something lacking from Jones staff..

All that said.. I'm in wait and see.. But am very optimistic for Kongo... And I will say this.. If the lights come on for him... Then how much better do you think Bituli and Taylor and company will be, receiving the same coaching? This group could play lights out.. Gonna be fun fellas!

Lots of folks are overlooking another former 5 star on our D and that is Kyle Phillips. This was a high rev youngster that caught the attention of everybody coming out of hjigh school, but he caught the injury bug on The Hill and under previous tutelage. He's healthy and can be dominant, don't overlook this youngster if he remains healthy.

You know... kongbo did show some flashes of greatness last year. He has mad some backfield stops and a few sacks. He just need to work on his explosiveness a bit. I think this new staff will get him moving. But I don’t disagree about what you say about him.

Kongbo’s move to LB keeps reminding me of Leonard Little. He’s got to play way better, but LB might be the perfect spot for him.

I love the optimism. Every vol is an all-star, until the first snap anyway.

A healthy DKjr. is my pick all day long. He is super athletic and has a more proven track record. Unfortunately, i don't think he is healthy and may only see 30 snaps today.

Bitull is a monster and certainly had bright spots with inept coaching. I hope he is better than DKjr. and similar to the greats..Al Wilson Tyrone Hines et al.

Great question.

If he can play at 100% every game this season DKjr will be exciting to watch. Bituli is right on his heels though. I am kinda worried that the 2 injuries may have set DKjr back somewhat. Prior to any injury he certainly exploded to the ball and also set the defense. We are indeed looking good at LBer position and creating some depth finally. I do need to adjust myself because our old defensive ends are now considered OLB's and I'm not sure of the depth we have outside.
