I know you're probably just kidding around, but I couldn't help but notice the scare quotes around the term fan to describe my choice of UNC logo. I was born and raised in North Carolina. Spent the first 22 years of my life there. I was a Tarheel fan from birth practically. I've spent the last five years of my life doing my time here at UT and have another two to go, after which I'll have two degrees from the university.

And your point is what...after (at least) 27 years, you can't make up your mind?
Well, my point was to defend an obvious jab (albeit perhaps joking) at my UNC fanhood, like I was simply a bandwagoner. However, it's possible to be a fan of two college teams (when you have understandable allegiances to each), especially when they only meet about once every other decade, if even that. I didn't mention it earlier, but I also teach at UT, so I can have some loyalty, as well, to the school that feeds me, can't I? My screen name "ain't" Volprof for nothing.![]()
Shocking as it might seem to you, I deduced from "Volprof" that you taught at UT.
I did not read your name as "Volproof", a name you might go by if you were attempting to show that your Tar Heels could not be overwhelmed by the Vols.
And, no, its not possible to be the fan of two teams at the same time. Two years ago, in the Music City Bowl, you probably were sniveling into a diaper, torn by your indecision as to which team you should pull for. Tell your split personalities/ two identities that a choice must be made, and while doing so remember whose tax dollars keep food on your table. :bash:
... my parents are 9th generation North Carolinians and also gave birth to me in that state; likewise, I'm sorry that I moved out here to teach at your university...
