Interesting today

Another possible candidate that is being mentioned is North Carolina head coach Butch Davis.

When asked if he were interested in the Tennessee job Davis’ response: “The long and short of it is that the administration and I are completely, firmly committed to building a championship football program at North Carolina. And my family and I are very happy in Chapel Hill.”

Davis also said: "you're flattered a little bit". “You grin and bear it”, he said of the speculation and that “it kind of goes with the territory.”

Butch Davis wants in knoxville... BAAAADD

Who would Kiffin start next year at QB? Stevens or Boyd?

Oh by the way I think that Kiffin was a big help in recruiting the best college football player We have ever seen in Reggie Bush.

1st don't rule out any of our QBs with the proper coaching. Theirs a story on Govolsxtra that says that BJ has been getting all the 2nd string snaps this week.

Reggie Bush the best college player WE have ever seen? What are you like 3 years old and never seen another Football player? No doubt he was good. Hell we did win a heisman , but come on! Wait here I'll fix it for you.

I wouldn't take Reggie Bush over Chuck Webb ever.

of course they are talking with him. they are also probably trying to talk to Butch Davis and Jon Gruden. just because a meeting it held, that doesn't mean an offer was made. if we wind up with Kiffin, I won't be upset at all. he isn't my first pick, but we could do a lot worse. he's got experience recruiting. he's got experience winning. he's got experience as a head coach...even if it was for nfl brats. now, maybe he'll appreciate what he has in college kids who are willing to do whatever it takes to make it to the nfl. he'll be the boss as opposed to Al Davis being the boss of the team.

It is a blog submission, not an article. A blogger can write pretty much what they want, it doesn't have to be true. It's not like ESPN doesn't speculate every day on what they believe may or may not be true. This should be taken for what it is, information that Kiffin may have been in Knoxville. It wasn't reported by WDEF. It wasn't on the sports page or on the evening news, it was on the Vols Fan Blog page which is stricly an opinion piece.

Well it was posted on their front page of the web site. May not mean anything, then again maybe it will. I believe that Kiffin is in the top three on the list. Just my opinion.

Well i work for an airline that he has a frequent flier acct with.Kiffin hasn't flown in the past 2 weeks. but then again i'm sure they'd use the jet.
