Someone please explain this twisted logic to me. Reply
1. Tennessee commitment visits another school and leaves without changing his commitment yet everyone on here presumes he is gone, YET

2. Let a commitment to another school visit UT without committing before he leaves and the immediate presumption is that he has turned UT down.

If there is a more negative self defeating fan base in America I have yet to see it.

With a fanbase as large as ours you are going to have the overly optimistic, the realistic, the debbie downers, and the outright idiots, that's just how it is.

I love how every other Vol fan thinks we're the most negative fan base in the whole wide world. I'd love to know how many fan bases in the whole wide world they have a real familiarity with. Probably none but our own.

Just the nature of the beast----some people are miserable with their own life and it shows on message board posts.

They are commonly known as LOM's

But why should we concern ourselves with other fanbases' deficiencies?

Shouldn't we challenge and separate ourselves from other fanbases to give recruits another reason to come to Tennessee?

We just haven't won many battles with our SEC rivals either on the field or in recruiting for several years. My 13 year old was 8 years old the last time we were relevant. We are a bruised fan base. Only winning some of these recruiting battles and games on the field will cure that.

I'm positive. Why would a kid not want to go to UT? We are headed back up. I'm fired up.
Also, if a kid commits now, then it only makes you feel good for now. It's the SEC and until you sign a kid then you never know where he is going. So I don't get too pumped until signing day because a kid can change his mind at any moment.
Our history has told me that we always close incredibly. Lets go UT and Coach Jones.

You can't change the negative chicken little element of the fan base...all you can do is make them the minority...I'll put our fans up against any for positive support....peruse UGA websites and AJC story comments..I'm sure Richt doesn't

I'd say it's usually the opposite. If a kid that this fanbase wants has us listed as low interest, we get countless posts of "he's a lock - book it". Or, if a kid is a soft verbal to us and takes a visit somewhere else, all we hear on VN is that "he just wants to use his visits and see other campuses, he's still solid to UT".

By offering a better incentives package? I'm sure there are ut recruits out there that have a parent that wants to help lthe lord by building a bigger, better church. You know the ones with Jesus performing miracles in HD and Dolby surround sound. Call Cam Newton's dad for a free packet on how to line your pockets in the name of the Lord. Amen brother!

Some fans have become very jaded by the last decade. They feel as though everything that can go wrong will go wrong with the program. It's a portion of the fan base that feels extremely snakebit. It's a hope for the best, but expect the worst mindset.

Winning some games and having a good coach will do wonders!!

Just look at Ole Miss! They are reeling in the best wide receiver this class, and possibly the No. 1 recruit overall!

Just shows me that winning is walking the walk, and not just talking the talk.
