JR Tee Martin completion % in 1998- 57.3

FR Josh Dobbs completion % in 2013- 59.5

FR Tyler Bray completion % in 2010- 55.8

FR Erik Ainge completion % in 2004- 55.1

Cannot hit a wall? Try again chief.

You think you know me ?

Chief ?

Ok,
Have you been to practice ?
I have.
Did you know Dobbs hit the weights hard this year? He put on a bunch of mass. This seems to have screwed up his accuracy big time. So while your stats are cute they have squat to do with the fact that right now he can't hit anything.

Chief.

So because you claim to have seen him struggle at practice this year means he cant become accurate? Yeah right. Because practice is exactly the same as real games.

Sorry the stats bother you but your statement was refuted by them. Using the stats I guess Ainge, Bray and Martin were not SEC QB's either.

That's what is wrong with our fan base...We all have different eyes and different opinions. I personally think Dobbs is our best option, due to the type offense we run. Spring game Dobbs made things happen all around the ball, plus he is just more exciting to watch win or lose. Plus Dobbs would have so many weapons compared to last year. Another thing Dobbs would do is open up running room for our backs with QB run option. just my thoughts!

Don't take my word for it. Read what everyone has said.

With any luck someone will develop into a winner because right now (at the risk of sounding redundant) we don't have one.

I'm on record that I believe in what Butch is doing. I think he plays the best player in his opinion. I believe him when he says that he opens every spot up to be earned. I believe that Dobbs and Peterman will get an honest shot next year. I think Peterman will beat out Dobbs in Butches eyes. I also wouldn't be surprised if one of the Incoming freshmen win the job.

I don't give 2 squats about your stats. I don't care which QB we put out there. The only thing I ask is that he's the best guy for the job.

Can't spell, doesn't care under your name goes along with Can't think, doesn't care! At least Dobbs is a brilliant thinker. Of course that's not needed in a QB. Geez, go watch a pee wee league practice, Chief! You'll learn more!

I'm dyslexic and have the spell check turned off for the torment of people like you.

Clearly reading comprehension is an issue for you.
1) I've said he's smart
2) I've said I'd be happy if he won the job.
I just want the best player on the field

And it is a no brainer that the best player on the field at the QB position would be Josh Dobbs who could take the pressure off of both Jalen Hurd and the OFFENSIVE LINE with his feet! They need him to get to a bowl in my opinon. The status quo is not acceptable with the games coming up!

Worley - Passing - 109 of 196 for 1239 yards, 55.6%
Rushing - 19 for 56 yards, 2.9 yards avg. 0 TD
Dobbs - Passing - 72 of 121 for 695 yards, 59.5%
Rushing - 38 for 189 yards, 5.0 yards avg. 1 TD

It's almost as if he is the better QB.

I wonder why Butch doesn't see it.
Strange.

It's getting time for the rubber to hit the road. Dobbs played over Peterman last year the last four games. Since he is in aeronautical engineering for a major, that means post graduate work and continued eligiblity. It is a combination of things. I think he was hoping the senior Worley could get them to a bowl game this year, Dobbs could redshirt and be the quarterback in prime time beginning in 2015. I don't think it has anything to do with Peterman being better than Dobbs. Dobbs was the best in the spring. The question is, "Is getting to a bowl game this year more important than Dobbs' red shirt this year? :hi:

Dobbs didn't start over Peterman. Peterman was injured. If peterman wasn't injured Dobbs does not play.

I get that people put a lot of hope in Dobbs, and that's fine, but it doesn't appear IMO that he's going to be the guy.

I hope he becomes great because we need someone to step up.

I'm old and have seen a lot of UT football. And I can't remember a QB playing as a freshmen, losing that spot, and then becoming great. Maybe Dobbs will be the 1st. It's more likely he's the next BJ Colman.

I'm not anti Dobbs. If he's the best option then put him in. Unfortunately your opinion (and mine) don't mean anything. The only opinion that matters has put him behind peterman. Twice.

I'm old and retired also, both military and civilian, and seen a lot of football. I've also seen the difference that an opposing quarterback that is a running threat has made the last two years in our W-L record. It is past time to even the playing field!

It didn't make a difference last year in the win loss column.
Seriously. Tell me who was the last QB to lose the spot as a freshman where they played several games then come back and be great. I agree we need someone. I don't think Butch Jones thinks it's Dobbs.

Brandon Stewart
James banks
Sterling Henton
Brent Shafer

History is not on Dobbs side.
( notice I'm not arguing that I think Peterman is better, I don't. I think CBJ thinks Peterman is better)

all this rif raf about whos better means nothing if the line cant block anybody for longer than 2 seconds..

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Right now I don't think we need the best passer .He!! if you watch the sacks we take with only 3 to four rushing there is always a big running lane open . You seen it against yes the mocs , Peterman took a busted play and scored a TD How many time was Worley sacked in that game . I don't care who they pic to be Qb but if everyone is going to drop 6 to 7 in coverage you have to make them pay with a running Qb .

Why would you say that about him.
He's a very smart kid. Sadly he couldn't hit the wall of a barn if he was in it.
By the way.....not being an sec QB is not an insult. There are not many of them And right now we don't have one.

as a true freshman with inexperienced group of receivers. And you are saying he's not accurate? I would disagree.

If Dobbs had guys like Spencer Reily blocking for him it would be different. We need more with his kick ass attitude!

beat bama in Tuscaloosa. Needless to say, a great experience--back when we were a very physical team. In the event, in the second half, with the Vols leading, Reily was chanting some bit that included the words 'blood on the grass.' I wish I could remember it. He was pretty intense. Loved it! That was a hugely talented team, which in the end underachieved.

No I'm saying that 2 things might have affected his accuracy.
1) he bulked up in the off season
2) he may have changed his throwing motion at the camp he and Worley went to over the summer.

I'm hoping for 2. The theory being when you make changes it gets worse before it gets better. ( like with a golf swing)

What ever the reason, he's not accurate now. He's not as accurate as he once was.
