I think I heard the other night that the highest RPI not to get in was 22. allvol will know for sure, but that does seem to be a positive for us.
Tough non conference does indeed have benefits...

The real question for allvol is: Was that #22 RPI a mid-major, or were they in a major conference? And ... what was their regular season and conference record.

I vaguely remember this, and I want to say that was a mid-major team, maybe 3 or 4 years ago: Creighton, possibly, or perhaps Butler? I would be willing to bet that it was NOT a major conference team.

Yeah the only problem with that is in basketball you lose one its no big deal, but you lose one in football and you can pretty much kiss the NC goodbye.

RPI was why the Vols ended up a 2 seed last year.

People didn't see that coming, and they are also thinking Tennessee MUST get 20 just to get in this year, I don't think that is so.

Tennessee can't lay down these last few games, but if they win three and atleast one in the SEC tourney, they will be in the NCAA Tourny.
