Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images Karma says what goes around comes around. Lane Kiffin, his last-second adios to Tennessee, and the bad vibes surrounding the move may already have landed back on the coach courtesy of reports leaking from the NCAA.
Kiffin may have jumped into the USC bed without realizing it was a frying pan. Should USC be hit severely with across the board sanctions as expected by the NCAA, could Kiffin have hitched his star to an anchor?
As stupid as Kiffin has been with all his other dealings except for actually landing jobs, could he have jumped at the USC job without fully realizing just how deep the doo doo is in Los Angeles concerning NCAA matters?
It would be poetic justice for both Kiffin and USC to go down together for the foreseeable future. People in Knoxville would gladly testify to his hands-off approach and lack of institutional control in such matters of coaching players in parking lot robberies and shoplifting.
Next month, when the NCAA comes up with the beginning of the indictments against USC, will Lane Kiffin be among the most surprised?
Didn't Pete Carroll jumping ship signal to young Kiffin just what his former mentor was thinking?
Maybe this will send Lane Kiffin and his pretty boy looks off to ESPN to land a job, send Ed Orgeron to a local used car dealership near you, and his father to a much deserved nursing home.
Either way, justice is bound to be served.
