Interesting read on Tyler Smith

Bass? can this team have to much talent, sounds funny to say, but they seem to be out whack for some reason, no flow, but its early. Or is CBP playing everyone now to see whats going to work down the road?

I'm just assuming Bruce hasn't figured out the rotation yet and that is a huge factor in some of our struggles. The other theory would be that Steve Forbes isn't the miracle worker on the defensive end that Bruce expected. Hopefully we will see increased minutes from T. Smith, Lofton, Ramar(if he learns how to play basketball again), and BW when SEC play starts.

And as long as Jordan Howell gets this many minutes we are handicapped offensively and defensively unless(for offense) Lofton or Jajaun are on fire from behind the arc - since Howell cannot make a move into the lane to save his life.

Well on one hand it seems that its someone different every night which is good, but on the other hand its someone different every night(yes my logic is stunning, I know), but do you know what I mean, it seems no one player is going out every night with that same consistency, just wondered if you thought they might catch themselves waiting on each other sometimes, because they know they are talented team.

No - I never said I had a problem with him leaving. It was common knowledge though that he wouldn't stay for 3 full years.

And please rank your top 5 shooters on CONSISTENCY. Please, please do not put Jajaun Smith in the top 2 or include JP Prince on the list.

Did not mean 2 make out you had a problem with him leaving my bad there. I was not sure how good the kid was so I did not know he would leave before 3. From everything i have seen games, practice etc. I would rank them being.
1. Lofton-no explaniation
2. Howell- Kid can shoot, but doesnt much cause of being a pg
3. Cameron Tatum- Not getting to play like tabb right now, but he can flat out shoot the ball.
4. Jujuan Smith- This is where I got to put him. Takes some dumb shots, very streaky but so is tabb.
5. Big Baby- 100% baby cant argue with that:crazy:. Seriously I am not sure on 5. jp and tyler r great athletes but not great shooters from outside. Tabb is better than duke and chism i will give ya that. As well as the walk ons, but maybe tyler at 5 and I would put tabb at 6.

I think that's a problem with Lofton and Tyler Smith. Not for someone like Chism, Jajuan, or even Howell.

Lofton and Tyler need to take this team over and become less passive. They've both played that way at times - especially Lofton.. he has to take the team over again if we want to be the very best.

Sometimes players like Chism and Jajuan can hurt us like you said imo - when they're out there playing like that. But Jajuan is who he is and that's what makes him good.

Didn't figure you were going to include a guy who is being redshirted. And I'm not sure why you included a guy who has shot one from behind the arc and made it. The rest of his shots are sky hooks and layups. You must be crazy.

Btw - did you look at Tabb's %s?

I was bull crappin on big baby. If you take out tatum i am not sure. As far as tabb. He is very streaky in my opinion. Shoots alot of lay ups as well. Gets some run outs and things like that 2 make his %'s look really well. When he does bring up his % from three its because he does have a game once in a blue moon where he goes 5-6 from three. Did not mean 4 you 2 get upset witht me. Just my opinion :salute:

I'm not upset - I just come off that way sometimes.

I think most decent guards will skew their FG % from layups and fast break points. Jajuan more than any guard on our team in my opinion.

prolly right with jajuan. He either goes 7-10 or 1-13 from three, but always seem 2 have a descent percentage.

Jajuan is a better and more consistent shooter than J. Howell. As streaky as he may be, he always hits at least 2 to 3 3's a game.

Tyler's stock will only go up as the season goes on. Connely wasn't anywhere on the NBA radar last year until he played TN. He made the big show. Tyler will take center stage in March and have his chance to shine also. His stats will only get better as the season goes on. He does shoot the 3 pretty well, but chooses not to with Lofton and JuJuan on the floor. He is too unselfish. The thing that might keep him here next year is once Lofton and JuJuan and gone from the lineup, Pearl will be looking for Tyler for a scoring option just about everytime we bring the ball up the court. He should easily average 20+ points a game next year. I don't know how much that will increase in draft position or $$, but it might just be enough to keep him here another year.

Tyler's invaluable to this team. He's the most complete player on the team. I wish him the best, and if he leaves, we'll miss him big-time.

Really couldn't have said it any better. He's the guy that makes Tennessee a possible final four team. I think he could be SEC POY and an All-American next year.
