I just saw an interesting quote on the Scout site from a WR prospect out of ARK. Ladarius Eckwood on Tennesseee, "with coach Fulmer leaving it will not affect me at all; a new staff means a clean slate."

hey backdock. have you seen any ducks coming in on the river yet. My parents live in scottsboro and we go as close to G'ville as we can without actually being in G'vill. (Across from waterfront)

you now have to believe that Phil's departure is inevitable. If we can just get Phil to realize it and follow Carr's example.

I haven't duck hunted in a few years, therefore I haven't really noticed. But I did see my first group of loons just yesterday. That might be a sign?

I don't know if it was just luck or what, but I saw a sh!t load of bald eagles last winter and spring just by accident while driving in my car and fishing.

Pretty sure he does. I think the powers that be just want to wait til season's end... I'm OK with that.

There are a lot of things to wrap up in a situation like this. Recruiting classes, contract details, talking to players and coaches......it will come in due time.

They released a bunch in that area. It was a national nesting place. They recently took them off the endangered species list due to this factor.

Only problem, the extra month here on main board is causing more of my hair to go gray... or let go altogether...

If we can retain Scott and possibly Drayton, depending on who we bring in, we should still have a pretty solid class. Sure there will be a few defections, but it won't be a complete loss. It could end up being alot better if we bring in the right guy.

So would the coaching staff admit to a teenage recruit that they are leaving? In this day and age of message boards and instant news? I would think that this recruit is defending his stance on UT (if he is coming here) that he is sold more on the program than the coach.

I know there are recruiting strategies to get them here but leaking they will not be around before the general public is a pretty big risk.

Rivals has him as 5'11-162 lbs- 4.7 forty
Scout has him as 6'2- 175 lbs- 4.5 forty

So did this kid a hella growth spurt or what? The scout stats seem more accurate being a WR and 4.5 forty speed.

So is his comment on our coaching staff in response to him having us at the top?

I am not at all impressed with what Scott has done with the WR. I would ship him and Adkins off together. The o-line and wr's have been abysmal.

Obviously he knows something we don't.

What would that be? Who here doesn't yet know, in their own hearts, that CPF is leaving this year.

If CPF announces it today or at the end of the season, I doubt anyone who has been here for a few months or more will be surprised. Relieved, grateful, optimisitic, etc.... but not surprised.

Has anyone thought about courting Tony Dungy? This is his last year with the colts. He has helped coach college with Minnesota. He is leaving NFL to be with his family. I believe East Tennessee is a good place to raise a family away from the big cities. I believe Peyton Manning could have a big influence with Mike Hamilton when he makes a coaching change.

If Dungy was interested, I'm not sure why you think Hamilton would need to be convinced by Peyton. The Vols would need Peyton to influence Dungy to come to UT, not the other way around.

However, if the man wants time with his family, I don't see him taking on the challenge at UT.
