McCain fairs better on Iraq than does Obama. I know it's just one poll but I find it interesting that an issue that should be Democratic lock is even and possibly in McCain's favor.

Confident your candidate will make the right decisions on Iraq

Candidate (very, somewhat, not confident)

Obama (14%, 38, 46)
McCain (25%, 29, 43)

The Russian/Georgian skirmish could be bad for Obama if it escalates.

One, he probably would not know what stance to take. Two, he would be utterly confused as to why Russian wants Atlanta.

This is one of the reasons I am torn on who to vote for.

From your previous posts about Obama I find that hard to believe, not being a smart azz but it just surprises me.

If you read carefully, I have virtually nothing bad to say about McCain. Other than that his temper flareups are somewhat disconcerting, I can't think of a single significant negative thing to say about him.

Obama, on the other hand, has some real drawbacks. He's weak on foreign policy, he has played too much to the rhetoric and not enough on facts and policy, and he is naive and inexperienced in several important respects.

I see value in breaking the mold of what we've been doing for so long. I see value in giving the Dems control of both the Congress and the WH because I'm tired of the gridlock.

But, in the end, if I do vote for Obama it will likely be less because I like him, and more because I'm ready to break up the monotony of dullards up there in Washington, shake things up, get the place moving again.

Ironic, considering that for the most part its the Joe Sixpacks of the country that the Republicans have traditionally relied upon to win the WH and this year, because the Joes are all losing their jobs and paying $4 for gas, the Republicans may lose because of them.

You sure about that? I think they're split pretty evenly between the parties.

Yea, the Rs have rountinely banked on the Joe "Union dues paying" Sixpack to win the WH.

I know. Those industrial Midwestern states have never been anything but 100% red.
