I'm pretty sure in those countries everything was confiscated for the country. If that was to happen here many like me would take up arms.

Having a high-paying job and being a teacher in and of themselves aren't virtuous. One's behavior once in those jobs is what should make them virtuous.

Unless you see it different, I think we're still in agreement.

I think many on here are intimating/predicting/promising this is what's going to happen if Obama becomes president - I ain't talking about a little tax restructuring - I'm talking full-fledged Communism.

(in case it's not clear, I think this perspective is inaccurate).

Why is it my business is someone is not an angel with regards to their job?

Why do you care that someone on Wall Street or the classroom isn't virtuous?

We are free to live how we choose, are we not?

I don't think most people here would claim to believe Obama would totally throw our government out the window and name himself the czar! I do believe that he has socialist principals in mind for this country that contradict the principals this country was founded on. It is not the responsibility of the government to provide anything but security from our enemies and uphold the constitution and rights that are spelled out in it.

Both his foreign and economic policy statements concern me but in the end, the country muddles through.

W is viewed as the worst president in history by many but in reality, most American's lives have changed relatively little while he's been in office.

Just because I believe Obama is a full blown socialist, doesn't mean he'll get to implement his utopia while in office. He will struggle to make this a Maoist state and declare all assets gov't property. He won't struggle, however, to jack taxes through the ceiling with a dem controlled congress that mistakenly believes that they were put in office to head way back left.

Hence, already accumulated wealth will be fine, but high earners have a blow coming if Obama's elected.

Dude, I think you've taken one too many hits of the freedom pipe today.

We're free to do whatever we want. Me caring whether people are virtuous is in my best interest.

Do you really not care how someone behaves at their job? No problems with drug dealers, gang leaders, scam artists, Kenneth Lays, pedophile priests, cheaters, liars, thieves? If you didn't care about them, you'd be out of a job, would you not?
