That's not really fair.... I never attended UT (both of my parents did though.... Dad got his masters and PhD there so I guess I do have ties to the university...) but it doesn't diminish my credibility as a Vols fan.....

WOW that Pac-10 is a tough confrence with only 8 NATIONAL TITLES
compared to the SEC'S 18
jeez must be tough when you and two other school from the pac 10 are the only ones to win a national champ.

eh maybe i am being harsh, i am an alumnus as is known around here of Ohio State and both my parents are alums of Vandy of all places, but i was jocularly making a point about plastic LA fans in general, these people were UCLA fans before Pete arrived in 80% of cases

Are you kidding? I asked for a list of major conference champions and you come up with one mid major, one team not in a conference, one team I already listed, and 3 other teams that didn't win the conference.

I love OSU as well, but im a native of beautiful Sumner County, Tennessee, and even though both my parents are Vandy Alums the rest of the family including yours truly are Vol Fanatics

Thanks Bama. We look forward to meeting you on the field. Let me apologize for the bad manners of our previous coach. Many of us were embarrassed by his immature behavior. To disrespect three other SEC coaches, including yours, the way he did was unprofessional and unwarranted.

Unfortunately, college football has become a business where the ends justify the means. The emphasis on education, ethics and instilling those skills that young men need to be successful in life have been replaced by the chase for the big bucks. As you know in the South we attempt to hold on to those virtues that matter to us most - hospitality, morals, respect and we look for those qualities in our coaches as leaders of men. That's why the LK hire was a big mistake.

I like winning games as much as anyone, but do we have no obligation to these student atheletes? Not everyone makes it to the NFL. What kind of lessons are we teaching when we insult other coaches, publicly call out officials, and break the rules? But I guess if it helps give you a competitive edge so you can win more games, it's OK, right?

Maybe on the West coast, but I hope not in the SEC. Bama, I agree with you. If we have a sharp, dedicated coach who acts with integrity, the wins will come just as they have for you.

I've come around on OSU athletics a little, but there are times I still find it hard to care if I'm not actually at the game.

I came around quickly but I was there on a wrestling and baseball scholarship, so i was part of the athletic department and lived in the Athletic dorm, and made good friendships with some football players, including Krenzel, Gamble, Nugent and Hawk.

Nothing personal against USC or their fans, the only way Kiffin suffers is if you guys lose. I'd be just as happy if he went winless the first year instead of you guys getting probation, whatever gets that idiot tossed out the door there. Once Kiffin is gone I have no issue with USC; I've always enjoyed watching them in past years.
