Ok Kiffin offered the kids a scholarship to Tennessee. What that scholarship guarantees is two things…Free education, and the privilege to play football for the Volunteer program. Those two promises will be fulfilled no matter who the coach is. What that scholarship does not promise, is that Kiffin will be their coach during their entire tenure, nor does it promise them a better chance a to reach the NFL. So it bothers me to hear about parents moving all the way to Tennessee because their kid is enrolled there. That’s just plain foolish. In today’s college football atmosphere, playing for a long term head coach should not be expected.

Coaches move on, get fired or simply retire. Case in point, there were 22 new coaches appointed this year, with more changes expected to come. What am I getting at? Kids should enroll at SCHOOLS that they want to play for, not the Coaches who recruit them. That way, you can never be disappointed..or start riots, burn mattresses, or create Facebook pages dedicated to the coach who disappointed you..

Its spelled , k i f f e n suxs. True a kid needs to play for the school not the coach, who is a lying no class jerk. Glad you have him and good luck with him when you're on probation with no tv or bowl games.:salute:

The players weren't the ones setting matresses on fire, starting riots, or creating facebook groups. It was the FANS. the ones who, if they go to the school, didn't get a scholarship from that coach to play for him, who developed a love for the university and it's football team; and if they don't go to the school, have unrivaled pride in their University and football team. We were upset because this "man" turned his back and jumped ship with no warning AFTER he came in, promised this and that, talked smack out the ying yang, and had a mediocre season. The players have nothing to do with anything that has happened.

I don't blame him for leaving however nobody expects a coach to leave after 1 year.

None of these things you bring up are the problem. When a coach talks about being here for years to recruits and promises them all these things getting their families to move to play for a certain guy then he up and takes off faster than his mouth can carry him then you'll have very upset people. Also telling guys you recruited who are now at your former University to not attend class, then you'll really have a problem. Now, USC is a huge NCAA football moneymaker so it will take a lot for them to get on probation, but with the Bush and McKnight deals and now Mr. Violations himself going there you all will be on a huge spotlight. Don't be surprised at all if your program goes on any type of probation soon.

Better yet, they can enroll at USC and their parents can have free housing and if you're good enough you can get some nice spending money of your own.

I pretty much agree with this. I don't know how realistic it is, but I agree with it.

I used to want Notre Dame to lose every game. Scratch that, mark 1 win in for ND from now on and anybody else that plays USC as long as dip$hit is there.

If Stanford can mudhole stomp USC with Pete Carroll coaching them just imagine what there going to do to the box of rubbers with Kiffin coaching.

Its time USC.

Enjoy Lane, hes not Pete, i'm sure you know that already though ;) When the Trojans are on probation headed for a SMU style death penalty in 5 years, there will be no need to thank us , signed, Vol Nation

P.S. we all know he left because the Pac 10 is weak sauce compared to the SEC and he can concievably win 10 games next year easy, his only competition will be Oregon and Stanford...... good luck luring Chow back as well :)

The more I think about it, the more I am glad they're gone. What the hell did they accomplish while here? Three of our losses were to lesser opponents, one to a team that we're probably on par with. If he was such an awesome coach, we would have had more wins. The only thing they were good at was recruiting, but its not like we were bad at that before. I think we got a much better deal, and USC just made a huge mistake.

Having said that, I still hate the man because I hate dishonest people and narcissists, which he is both. I hope he fails at everything he does... and I hope USC likes losing to UCLA despite having superior talent, because Kiffin has proven he is capable of that.
