Interesting news from the Penske camp...

Good for him although I was hoping Sam would do well in Cup racing.

Of all the Indy car drivers, I would have given Hornish the best chance after Montoya to make it in NASCAR. His driving style is aggressive, and he seemed fearless in an Indy Car. Perhaps he can get things to click, but this article makes it look like things may be in motion for him to go back to open wheel cars.

Uncharacteristicaly bad decision by Roger. Oh well, it won't take him long to get rid of him after the results start to come in

i think he went to Cup because Roger told him too. and now that he's struggling, he may want to hop back over now that the IRL looks like it's going to have an exciting 500 and season. i'd love to see Sam back in the IRL, considering i'm a huge fan of his.

Stremme was hired simply because he's probably the best driver out there at this time without a Cup ride. when Penske come calling, you answer. may be a golden opportunity for the kid. i doubt it though.

I think Stremme has a little bit of talent. He showed some flashes with Gannassi. He also is young enough that he should still be willing to learn a little.

Guys, I was being sarcastic. What has Stremme ever accomplished in Sprint Cup? Or Nationwide for that matter?

knowing how Roger thinks, he's not high on him either.

like i said, the kid could catch lighting in a bottle and pull some good runs, but more than likely he's a temporary solution until he can make a more calculated move.

Rusty is not going back to Penske. Roger bought him out rather quickly after his last season.

Like some of us said elsewhere, Rusty is not a team player, and Penske is all about team. How about Scot Wimmer, his ability was not fully shown with the 4 car, and he just won a Nationwide race.

He's been great in the Childress ride the past year and a half. I'd have to say that he'll be the next candidate for the 4th RCR car if for some reason Labonte stays with Petty.

i never really understood what happened with Kvapil either.

i think NASCAR is more of a hobby with Roger. and he got bored/was unhappy with that team so he cut Kvapil loose. everybody knows you don't find Roger anywhere but calling the race for his IRL team when they're racing.

it's hard to tell what Penske has on his mind, but just from this whole thing, i can tell he's got something on his mind. and i'm guessing Sam Jr. will be at Indy.

Having watched RP since his Trans-Am days with Donahue, and meeting him once, I think you are most lkely correct. I would say that Hornish at Indy is a done deal. I think he looks at NASCAR as a bit more than a hobby, but you are correct in he puts more time with the Indy car team.

The most disapointing driver in the past couple of seasons is Reed Sorenson. He was a beast in the busch series each week and I thought he would be the next up and coming star. Ganassi's cup equipment hasn't given him the opportunity. The same could also be said for Stremme. Maybe I'm just not giving him a fair chance
