Thought I would share

A little know cobbler, Adolph Dassler, was developing a running shoe about the time of the 1936 Olympic Games held in Berlin. He was not a member of the Nazi Party, so he approached Jessie Owens to wear his shoe. Since he felt that he would be rejected because of his given name, he introduced himself as Adi, his nickname. Owens tried them on and agreed to wear them

Owens went on to win 4 golds, unheard of at that time, in Track and Field

Owens success helped Adi start his new business

Adidas

When I was in high school I "learned" Adidas stood for "All Day I Dream About Sex."

Still seems like the correct origin to me :)

I've always been partial to Adidas and Puma. Never cared for Nike much.

I guess not wrong, but misleading. Adolph had been making running shoes for athletes since the 1928 Olympics and was branding out significantly by the 1936 Olympics when a large number of athletes wore his shoe, including the Germans, and one Jesse Owens. Adolph and Rudolph would both go on to join the Nazi Party under Hitler's regime.
