Interesting comment from Ainge to open his show this morning

For those of you with CFB microwave syndrome, I encourage you to take a look at Exhibit A. Maybe it's exhibit K. As in UK.

When UK hired Stoops everyone, and I mean everyone on VN took a who cares attitude. After 3 years of UK style results, it reinforced that attitude. In year 4 they straight up beat us and our dumpster fire. This year, in year 5, Stoops took them into the Swamp and beat the team that just hung 50 on us, and beat them by two scores! Now they've taken an initially impressive MSU team out behind the woodshed. They are ranked. They are undefeated. They are coming into Neyland with a big jar of Vasaline and are going to humiliate our storied program.

WTH? It's called PATIENCE.

Nobody would have raised an eyebrow if UK would have tossed yet another underperformer to the curb and started over a year or two ago. But, they didn't. They had a plan. A solid Crock Pot plan. Develop players to succeed in 4 or 5 years. And Stoops has done it! Now they have their pipeline built. And who knows, if the ball bounces the right way, they could win the East one day.

Meanwhile back at the house of General Neyland, we've got geniuses calling for our latest Microwave Solutions head. After only four ugly games.

Even if Pruitt IS the guy ... it's gonna take time. Patience Grasshopper!

Its a myth that its always darkest right before dawn. Scientifically not true.

Pruitt has a lot to prove, of course. No reason to judge him until year 3 though. Tjose 12 linemen that we have coming in next year will be sophomores or redshirt freshmen. The couple that we snagged this year will be juniors, and several look promising. We should be hopefully the 2nd best team in the SEC east then (no way anyone challenges UGA for 1st in the east. Their recruiting classes are SIGNIFICANTLY better than even bamas). Year 4, which will and should be his defining year, those 12 will be juniors, Shrout and Banks will be seniors, as will Thompson, A. Taylor, J.J. , etc...we should be a 9 and 3 or 10 and 2 team...and challenge UGA at least somewhat for the East. These stupid fans ready to fahr a coach 4 games in are an embarrassment to our fanbase...and a reason that many coaches dont want to come here. Scott Frost is 0 and 3...and they were down 56 to 3...at home...to Michigan, when UM pulled the last of the starters. Frost is a good coach, at his alma mater. Rebuilds take time, these are teenagers for petes sake.

For the record, I'm not passing judgement on Pruitt just yet. I still think he might be the guy and I dearly hope that he is. I am willing to be patient and give him the chance he deserves. But I won't be silent and not comment on things that I think are interesting.

I hope you never have the misfortune of having to deal with addiction in your family.

But saying someone is a lesser person because they struggled with addiction is absolutely disgusting.

Reading comprehension and the ability to read the written text is beyond most of you on here....

I never cracked on Ainge at all....I just said that AINGE shouldn't be criticizing these players for allegedly "not giving their all" when he was spending a large share of his time while at UT high on dope and illegally going about trying to purchase narcotics...

In other words--you should read my response to Mr. Ainge this way: "Pot (Ainge), meet Mr. Kettle." That's it! nothing more and nothing less....

My brother, cousin, and aunt are alcoholics so yes addiction is a real thing. Nothing to joke about or make fun of.

Once and for all--I was not making fun of addiction or anyone who is fighting addiction.

But it would be hypocritical for one addict to criticize another addict for not trying hard enough to fight addiction...

In the same way--it's hypocritical for Ainge to criticize the current UT players for what he perceives as not giving their all for the program when
He HIMSELF failed to give his all for the program as evidenced by his relentless pursuit of another narcotic high when he played at UT...

Give me a break, folks....I am a pharmacist who has over 25 years of dealing with addicts on a daily basis and trying to help them!

As some of you know I come on here occasionally and post, not to bash but have good football talk. UT is in bad shape by the previous coach. Is CJP the answer, unfortunately for UT only time will tell. Bama was in a similar boat when Saban took over. Yes I think we had better players left under Shula, but there was also a mentality of players quitting. We had a quick turn around due to having better talent left but you have to weed out the quitters. Like Ainge said, there is a mentality with some of the older players and CJP has to get rid of them. 3 wins this year is very probable but let him weed out the dead weight and maybe next year with his sophomores and freshman he can win 7 or so, then with 3 years of his players with his mindset the SEC East is not out of the question.

Then why are they playing? Sit then and play freshman.
I agree with the sentiment but am afraid without another year of S&C at the college level we would be sacrificing several of them to injury. Sometimes I wonder if Shy Tuttle could have used an extra year to develop and maybe avoided that injury from the dirty hit from Kablanow.

Why? London is slow, and doesn’t break tackles. I’d roll with chandler and banks. The other two are just to slow to make an impact in an sec game.
seriously, were we watchin the same UT FL game? There is more to being a back besides speed. He is a bigger back and personally I feel he is better between the tackles.

London is a big slow back that doesn’t run hard. Banks is a big back that runs with a chip on his shoulder. I’d rather have the latter everytime.

miss st didnt impress me at ALL. i think we could beat them too.

We gave florida 35 of those 50......literally. we should've blown them out

we are still or have found out who doesnt want to play at a high level or can't. either the coaches will cont to ignore it and fit square pegs into round holes or bench those guys for others. tbd

we are better than most think. have we shown it yet, no.....but be patient like u said. like pruitt said, we are not up to sec-level conditioning yet, meaning we are getting there.

i too hated the results of the florida game, but after rewatching some plays....mainly the turnovers and qb pressures, the oline looked a lot better than in the wv game. tim jordan had a lot of missed blocks, not following blocks, and just not executing the position anywhere near decent for our offense to be effective. to add, florida cbs got away with mugging our wrs on several passes.

How can you post what you posted with a lol in the middle of it?

Poor form.

Have a little dignity.
Bc it's hilarious that some think other wise lol I mean why in the world would anyone think that we will be a much better team come game day against Georgia?

We gave Florida 24 points on 6 turnovers and Florida scored 47 points not 50.

There is no toughness on this team. Our coach was the only one showing any emotion on the sideline. There is no pride. These players here now don't consider that they are a part of a winning tradition or carrying on a legacy anymore and maybe their not. We have let this slide continue for so long that we have lost our identity.

Are you sick? I don’t think I’ve read a post from that has even resembled anything positive in awhile yet I’ve even two this thread lol. I agree 100% with your post though. It always gets worse before it gets better. It’s darkest right before dawn.
I always heard it was darkest right before it goes completely black.

Explain to me why London is averaging 6.0 yds a carry with less rush attempts than Banks's 4.1 yards ? Again, more to being a running back than just speed.

“These young players don’t know what they don’t know yet. And the older players on this team aren’t going to learn it here, at this stage in their life development. It’s really sad. When you slap that sign that says ‘I will give my all for Tennessee today,’ it either, to every fiber of your being, matters to you, or it doesn’t. I think there’s a lot of guys on this team that have been here for a few years that they may not even slap that sign when they go to run out though the T. And that is the single most disheartening thing from the whole weekend.”

College football is a game played by teens and young adults which means emotions play a huge part in every bit of what happens. Right now we have a team where the majority of them committed to Butch Jones, not UT. When he left so did one of the main reasons they cared so much. We have fans that said “I’m not spending my hard earned money as long as Butch is here” so we shouldn’t be surprised when his recruits take much the same approach to putting in full effort.

Another way emotion exists in this game is in rivalries. These kids hate their rivals. The hate is so strong I’ve seen recruits burn offer letters from rivals. Now take every non freshman on this team, they know Bama is their main rival, Bama and everything they have accomplished is the enemy. They were told to hate Bama, to hate their players, their fans, and their coaches. Now the guy they were supposed to hate last year is their coach and their old coach is part of Bama. These kids are really learning it’s all just a business and that disenfranchises a lot of them.
