“These young players don’t know what they don’t know yet. And the older players on this team aren’t going to learn it here, at this stage in their life development. It’s really sad. When you slap that sign that says ‘I will give my all for Tennessee today,’ it either, to every fiber of your being, matters to you, or it doesn’t. I think there’s a lot of guys on this team that have been here for a few years that they may not even slap that sign when they go to run out though the T. And that is the single most disheartening thing from the whole weekend.”

These kids don’t care. I learned that when JG Got hit dirty a few times and none of them helped him up or defended him. We won’t be good again until these cancerous players are gone. Butch infected them to the point of no return

I said this same thing yesterday. Imagine Spencer Riley, Will Ofenhousen (sp) or some of the other OL in the past if an opponent took a shot like that on their QB? None of our guys even went back to help JG up. Thats also on the OL coach Will Friend. These guys in this program know "quit" and "lose" cause thats about all they've been around the last 3 yrs.

Then why are they playing? Sit then and play freshman.

I'm with you on that one. Might as well start the young kids and let them get on the job training along with their coaches.

Hey, wait, weren't we saying this exact same thing with freshman Dobbs et al about 5 or 6 years ago? Full circle?

I’m not buying it. New schemes that have to be learned to the point of it being instinct.

I’m not ready to pitch them all out. Seems like every time our guys reacted to a cheap shot or some trash talk we get the penalty. They’ve been throwing flags on good hits for a while now. With rabbit ear refs we have to mind our Ps and Qs.

We’ll see how our guys respond this week. I doubt Smart will allow his players sleep walk this weekend, if he does don’t be too surprised if the chips fall our way.

While I agree with you, it will be a task for cjp to turn this thing around. Especially, with new scholarship rules. His best bet is to run off the cancer, this way he can use the scholarship.
He may need to mix in juco's just to give is a chance at winning. The problem with starting youth is that if they don't see any success.then its difficult to get the level of commitment needed to win more.

I dunno the best way but cjp has his work cut out for him. I just hope that he can be more of surgeon than butcher.

Yeah I just want an OL that can block. Rip the sign down for all I care.
In all fairness, that first real hit that JG took was a blitz off the left side that Ty Chandler didn't pick up, instead he chose to help DWA who was beat off the snap. Personally, I am a big London fan and wished he would have gotten more touches.

Until the Butch stain is washed from this team, it cannot be a rebuilding year. When all those guys are gone, and Pruitt has his type players and SEC type players then that's when the rebuilding process begins. He will need his full 6 years to do this sad for us fans who have been beaten down so long but whats another 6 years

If they don't care, isn't it the responsibility of the head coach to rectify that? Oh, wait...Pruitt said in today's press conference that he didn't bother submitting video of that play to the conference office for review. He actually complimented the Florida player for playing hard. So, uh...yeah.

It's not like we have a complete offensive line just waiting their turns. Freshmen or not.
I've said it before, it takes years to turn a high school boy into an SEC caliber offensive lineman. Late sophomore early Junior year before they are truly ready. That's if they have the talent and heart to begin with. Pretty much can be said for the D line. This downward spiral started with Dooley and Jones continued the cancer.

It's going to be awhile before this lack of talent and heart can be built.
