Because I have eyes and understand how football works (this means everything isn't automatically the QBs fault). If Aguilar and MacIntyre had been here a full year, I'd almost bet Merk would be 3rd string right now. Maybe I'm wrong and I hope I am. We'll see.

Limited sample size and he could make a jump over the summer. There's guys in the NFL who get it wrong all the time. I don't think I am though based on everything to this point. Im sorry you have an obvious emotional attachment to Merk. I'm not sold on him starting this year if Aguilar picks up the playbook quick. Either way, I want the best one. Seems like you want Merk at all costs.

I really don’t have a dog in that fight. I’m sure Heupel will select who he believes is the best to lead the team. Pre-NIL I would have probably been pulling for one or the other, but I’m in the transition period where my enthusiasm for college football is on the wane. However, I’m obviously not quite there yet as I am still keeping up with the comings and goings of the team, but just like free agency and my passion for MLB, it’s only a matter of time before I couldn’t care less about the sport unless they straighten out the mess they created.
