Get a huge break in the schedule.
Nov 1- OU
Nov 8- off
Nov 15 New Mexico State
Nov 22 Florida

Meanwhile UF plays AT Ole Miss on the 15th

We basically have 3 weeks to get ready for the Gators. Ole Miss will be faired up for the Gators who knocked them out of a possible play off spot last year.

Plus, hope it's about 35 degrees.:)
The game is in Gainesville, very unlikely it will be 35, but that would be amazing

We have the better coaching staff and the better team. Kyle McCord is gone. What so confusing?
Sometimes the better team with a better coaching staff has a tough game. Tennessee in particular has had that happen on the road a bunch under Heupel. We have done well in neutral site games for the most part, though.

If Nico’s accuracy improves by maybe 5% and our WRs actually catch the ball he could win the Heisman. Top 10 in drop rate 2 years in a row that has nothing to do with QB play
Drop rate can have something to do with QB play. Inconsistent ball placement, inconsistent accuracy, no touch, etc can all make things more difficult for receivers. And Milton and Nico both struggle with all of those things. It isn’t a coincidence.

I will disagree drop rate is a catchable ball that hits the WR in the hand and is dropped. I saw Keyton drop 2 TD pass that were in the bucket at the game in Nashville. Squrriel White underperformed 2 years in a row with drops. We can all name big time drops over last season when Nico threw dimes. Remember against Florida when Nimrod drop the ball that hit him on the hands on the post?

We can also name plenty of wide open receivers who had balls thrown at them that weren’t remotely in the neighborhood. If you don’t think that an inaccurate QB who has no touch is more likely to have his receivers drop balls, Idk what to tell you.

Last year has zero to do with this year

I get the sentiment, but by that logic things like our historic underperformance against UF in the Swamp would be meaningless too. But that’s just not true. Some things are a pattern. Lots of reasons for it - some or all of which could change, but until it does, that is the trend. Currently, we lose at least one game we should win every season. That’s the facts until it isn’t.

Nico doesn’t lack accuracy or touch… nobody on the offense was consistent outside Sampson and coop and even times Sampson had some ugly fumbles… Nico could rarely get in rhythm due to play’s getting called back or drops or him throwing an inaccurate pass… that year of experience was invaluable and if the game slows just a little bit more for him as it does for most Qbs as they gain experience… drops can definitely be effected by inaccurate passes but most of Nico’s drops were accurate balls.

Agree 100% plus Nico got better as the year went along. It began in the second half of the Bama game.

Nobody in the conference did well on the road last year. I think the only really big win was UGA's win over Texas in Austin.

Nico is very inconsistent with accuracy and touch. Nobody on offense can be too consistent if the QB isn’t consistent before and after the snap. Just being a year older doesn’t necessarily mean he will be better. Look at a guy like DJ U, who looked better as a true freshman than he ever looked again.

I just don’t believe a guy who runs out of bounds with no time left in the game and who takes meetings midseason trying to milk more money or transfer out is really a guy who has it from a mental or leadership standpoint. Physically he can sling a ball pretty well and can run pretty well, but what we have already seen from and heard about him doesn’t lend itself to his being anything near what we expected.

I'm thinking he will show improvement this upcoming season as FB is getting serious for him now. He is playing for his NFL draft status next season. Of course he needs a good pass blocking oline and receivers that can get open, which he didn't have much of that last season. Hoping it all comes together. If he plays well equals Vols season success.
