And use common sense about what is reviewable. For instance, UNC got screwed on a terrible ineligible receiver downfield call that replay showed was wrong. Why is that non reviewable but other subjective things like illegal forward pass, targeting, and where the ball gets spotted are reviewable?

IMO everything should be reviewable or nothing should. If the goal is to get the call right then nothing should be off limits to review.

They have different rules for different situations. The ground can't cause a fumble, that is correct. But to fumble a ball the receiver has to first have possession of it. If you don't maintain control of the ball when going to the ground then it isn't a catch. The rules are very clear on this. Butch knows the rules. Preston knows the rules. And you better believe our defensive backs know the rules (why they keep fighting to knock the ball out when in that same situation)

OK, but an honest question. Exactly when in a passing play does a pass become complete? If a player runs ten yards down field and has the ball stripped that's a fumble right - but not if he hits the ground in such a way that the impact with the ground causes the fumble? Does a fumble after a catch become "eligible" (not a bungled catch) after one step - two - five yards - ten? There may be something definitive about rulings like that, but it sure looks way to subjective in the end.

Like I said if the player has the ball in control when he hits the ground it should be dead at that point and complete. Just like fumbling the ball the ground cannot cause it. Very confusing to me.

UNC got screwed a couple of times. that ineligible receiver call was horrible.

i like to compare the replay with our government. it will get to the point that a game will have rely on replay review for every play.
