I have to totally agree with the originator of this thread. What I would like most of the actual Vol fans to do is not rush to either judgement or punishment. We need to support these kids as long as they are on the team and CLK has not bounced them off. It's a very far cry from sitting in a car with someone who actually does something wrong than it is to be the person doing wrong. We as Vol fans IMO need to support our players as long as the football staff and school administration has not done anything about the issue. The rush to judgement many on various threads here are performing is not indicative of being a healthy educated mature human being. At the first sign of trouble real or imagined a lot of people writing here are ready to cut and run, what great teammates you bunch would be.

After being suspended for an incident (supposedly a failed drug test), LAST WEEK!
Jackson should have been home, in the bed. He has put himself in this situation, guilty or not. He was were he should not have been, at a time he should not have been there.
These kids decided to risk their future, in life, to do something stupid. I hope they learn from the situation, and get their lives back on track.
If CLK decides to let all of them go. So be it. They have no one to blame, but themselves.

Look at the video of the boys who were being held up. They can't even look at the camera when they tell their story and one guy is scratching and itching all over. I think the whole thing is a little fishy to me.

I thought I read it was on the store video camera with their faces and that it was the store clerk that called the police.
Anyway, proven innocent until proven guilty is the way it should be. As a fan of the sport I do not concern myself with the parts where the law might be broken until all the facts are put out there and the case is decided. The point I think most here are trying to say, is not that JJ commmited a crime as much as he broke team rules again. I would bet that no matter what legal actions if any are taken against him, that he still broke team rules. Even if this did not happen was it a violation to be out this late? Does CLK have to wonder did JJ smoke pot, even though the girls claims it was hers, but it seems he might have a history of it?
Some fans assume if this robbery didn't take place that they were all innocent of doing any wrong. CLK and UT has to first look was team rules violated. It should not matter whether he is guilty or not but did he once agian break a team rule. But according to some on here breaking team rules is alright as long as they don't break the law.

Well, I was definitely one that was calling for JJs dismissal regardless of the circumstance and it is precisely because he was arrested at 2am on a school night in a car with drugs and weapons.
Take away the alleged armed robbery and it is still a punishable situation. Pretend for a second that none of the other stuff happened and a player that was suspended for a game the week before is arrested in a car with drugs at 2am, past curfew.
It is a no brainer. As others have said, how many strikes are we going to allow. It is all about perception and for the good of the team, Kiffin needs to be as hardcore as he can. This is his first real chance to send the right message.
If Jackson really had nothing to do with what happened, then I would support giving him a way back if he redeams himself. But he should no see the field again this year for sure.
