@LWSVOL latest from AP (***):

Gibson - Has had surgery for torn pec and is out for the year. ***Said he could be back late in the season depending on how he heals and if we're in the CFP mix***
McCoy - The hope is Alabama but he does have some of his adviors pushing to just prepare for draft and not play. decision still TBD ***Said if we're playing for something when he's medically ready he'll play***
Sanders - Not cleared by medical. Return unknown. he is week to week as when the nerve is healed he still needs to do some strength building.
Moi-return unknown. His issue has been kept real quite. Not expected back this week possibly MSU. Very difficult to get info on him ***Expected back for MSU, I inferred he could play this week but no reason to risk it***
Hobbs-Mississippi State is best guess. Don't think they risk a setback with him this week. ***Said MSU is possible, I get the sense he'll be ready***
Jackson-Out at least a month with shoulder problem. Not clear how serious yet. ***Pretty sure it was his clavicle. My guess is OFY***
What about all the offensive linemen injured on PAT team?
I’m real concerned about them

If there is enough tape on McCoy (I'm no scout, but he looked really good last year), then I can't see a reason from his camp why he would play for us again. If you're an NFL team and his folks reach out, you'd say the same thing. I can promise you that those scouting him would love top see him get another 3-4 months to heal unless they just have to see him own Ryan Williams again. But I think his tape from last year probably speaks for itself and coming back at 8 or 9 months seems risky from a performance and reinjury standpoint. Truly hope I'm wrong.

Particularly related to players coming back to soon from injury. Like David Sanders. He, or any one else, doesn't need to be rushed back because of any name image or likeness deal. Or because of how bad we may appear to need them. He can sit until he's not longer injured.

I'm preparing myself for almost none of these guys being back anytime soon. Holding out hope for at least one of the D linemen that we desperately need back in there but it's sounding like we're just going to have to roll with who was out there this past Saturday and hope they improve.

DB situation could definitely be the difference between 10-2 and 8-4. We are OK against average competition, but a liability vs top shelf competition QBs.

@ Bama against Simpson will be difficult for the secondary. When OU comes to town, Mateer may give our entire defense fits.

Then there’s always Florida. UT has tendencies to make their QB look like a top 5 pick annually.

I think the assumption should be that Sanders is mostly depth when he does return this year. At least until he can get his feet under him. It will take him a little but rebuild strength, get in game shape, gel with the line, etc. And Jesse Perry is playing really well in his absence.

That's true, but imagine Perry sliding back to Guard where he is even better and eliminating the weak link on our oline.

We'll see how Simpson does vs UGA. FSU has been his biggest test and he looked like ass.

Sanders will start when/if he returns. It’s not Sanders or Perry. It’s Sanders or Sham because that’s who leaves the starting lineup after Perry slides back to Guard. And that’s an improvement.

I guess. But Perry was pretty dominant last week against a stout UGA front. And Umarov was pretty solid. If Sanders can play well, I am fine with that. But I would rather not see a large step down at RT just to improve at G.

When Sanders returns Sham is the sixth OL in the rotation and Moe slides to LG with Perry to RG. I really like the options right now with that position group.
