Hurd - Silence

Why are you they keeping this injury a secret?

Dobbs 25 + carries

We have enough depth, but do we have that back that you can trust to get that 1 yard when needed. Hurd brings the pain. Alvin hasn't had that extra push for extra yards up the middle. Hurd was able to overcome some of the OL issues and get us a yard or two.

*Sorry if I started another pointless thread, but I am more than curious.

I wonder if the injury would impact his draft stock? CBJ just didn't react well on his feet when he was interviewed after game. That's the only thing that makes sense to me.

It is a privacy issue. This is not the NFL. I believe it is up to the player to decide and yes I could see them not wanting to divulge because he is planning on coming out after this year.

Isn't the "Double Secret Probation" Act even more of a red flag??

Most major college football coaches have a policy to not discuss injuries. For all we know, Jalen could have bruised his right side ribs on this play. You don't want a future opponent to know the details of where he is sore.

Do not think this play had a thing to do with his injury. Was in on several plays later in the game (one a TD pass in the third qtr..) But if it did. Concussed, must have been delayed reaction like headache some hours later. If lower back, must have tightened up over night, because he PLAYED after that play in the picture that no one wants to be reminded off.

Consider that he was injured but with out the coaches blessings he snuck back in to the game. Maybe the coaches didn't intend for him to play after the supposed injury.
Just something to consider.

No prob OP, don't think this is a duplicate thread. Actually the first I have seen of him being hurt... I thought he was just in the doghouse?

Concussion protocol is to remove a player's helmet so they can't go back into the game. This whole thing has been handled very strangely. My guess is we won't know the truth until after the season

He may want to keep opponents guessing.

Could be.
There are several reasons not to disclose, including yours. Maybe Hurd doesn't want it shared, or maybe they haven't pinpointed the problem or time constraint.
The only reason to release it is to satisfy a demanding fan base. Personally, I don't need to know every detail inside their business. Just do whatever is most beneficial to the athlete and the team.

I think Hurd and Butch had a "disagreement" during the game and Butch pulled him. After the game he came up with the lower extremity injury in order for Hurd to save face. Notice Butch soon after stated Hurd would be full go at practice Monday. He assumed Hurd would take his medicine and all would be good. But later Hurd continued to be stubborn and continued his defiance. This forced Butch to show the team who is "Alfa" and continue to deal with Hurd by not letting him practice. As of right now, neither is budging.
Pure speculation on my part, but we are talking about a 20 year old who may not like the way he was "corrected" and has his back up.
Again.......pure speculation on my part.

I just used that photo to show that Jalen took a hard shot there that he wasn't expecting. Could have bruised his ribs on either side, shoulder, arm, back, etc.

As you say, he did indeed play on after that hit. And yes, he is a tough guy and it might of been a delayed reaction.

Or, could have been an entirely different play. Might have pulled a groin muscle on his TD catch & run. Who knows?

Whatever the injury, I hope he gets well by October 15. We might get by this sheep herders without him, but we will definitely need Jalen playing on our side for Bama.

At least we know he is not suffering from low blood pressure caused from Viagra. We can all agree on that.

no doubt Jalen got his azz knocked down hard...not sure of an injury, of course, but just have to stay tuned...the game is tomorrow, so we'll see then.

GO VOLS!

It's a conspiracy of proportions equaling the assasination of JFK, Area 51, the US govt being involved in 9/11 and Elvis still being alive all rolled into one.
