Injury Bug and Nike Equipment

I guess you mean besides the last two? The difference this year is that most of the injuries have occurred after the games began.

we have had injuries every year its the types we have had this year that is troublesome. Shoulder injuries (QBs) and pounding to the dirt. The Head I guess you could contribute to more protocols taken. However, This year there has been more head injuries than normal and players shaking them off.

Not sure who took what look like a minor glance to the head helmet to helmet and was sidelined for a Qtr.

We are not physical and it looks like players are timid to get more physical than what we have seen in past years.

I can never remember this many injuries in a season.

Does Nike provide all the equipment? Helmet, Pads, Shoes and so on? If so, is there a correlation between the equipment and the numerous injuries?

Injuries such as concussions, Sprains, Shoulder are up? Could it be more equipment related?

Ignore the simple-minded ones on here. There can be a correlation between injuries and equipment or field conditions or strength/conditioning. Of course, it could be just the way the cookie crumbles. I'm not sure if we've actually observed a spike in injuries (again, gut-feels versus data would tell us), but if so, as a coach, I would want to understand why. There a plenty of PTs at UTK needing a thesis or something...

We don't have access to the data that it would take to make such a correlation that would have a strong statistical significance, but it is a relevant question.

Maybe the SEC will let us put green jerseys on all our players DURING the games......."yea, that's the ticket".

You're the type of person that doesn't understand why you get wet when it rains outside, and even more telling, you don't really care, aren't you?

I have not placed the blame on anything, let alone said to hit less. I have stated that we have statistically more injuries than we should, and that we should investigate the cause.

If you have an issue with what I have stated, good luck to you, and have a nice day.

You caught some flak but you didn't ask a dumb question. I think one would want to look at the type of injuries to see if a particular injury type stands out with the understanding that some levels of injury are just the nature of the beast. We're looking at levels of injury that are outside of the norm.

Head injuries could be due to the helmets.

Shoulder injuries could be due to the shoulder pads or maybe S&C.

Ankle injuries could be due to the shoes, S&C or turf conditions.

They're probably made by children in sweatshop like conditions in China. Shoddy quality is definitely contributing to the injury situation. It's a miracle someone hasn't been killed by now.
