Butch is all about his system and feels the players should evolve into his system not his system evolve with the players.
Why a lot of star talent leaves.
Guy is really, really stubborn and feels anyone who disagrees should just shut the f up....
Butch can't take criticism in any form apparently, but not winning the games he's supposed to win will be his downfall
Good observation..did you have to create a seperate thread to discuss it??
...merge please..

Have you ever thought that's why someone starts a thread. They don't want to search hundreds of useless threads themselves to see if something has been stated.Just get tired at having to search through several threads that have the same info..couple of times you have post like this pointed at me cowboy..there are stalking laws you know.
...love, love, love my ignore button!
Butch is all about the players and trying to get their best. We have got to keep a handle on turnovers.
Go Vols!
And without Dobbs we would have lost 5. Glad you're not the coach.
Behind this O-line, with Dormady at QB, we would have lost all those games. And we had 700 yds of offense in College Station. You want to blame the QB for that loss?We have had one good half (Florida) that Dobbs was key in... However, his throwing, or lack thereof, caused us to be in a position to where we should have lost. App state game was close due to his poor play and we won because of a Dobbs fumble and recovery by Hurd in OT. VT gave us 5 unforced fumbles in short field.
A&M loss was all on him... Even though he doesn't get attributed with the fumbles, there were two in the redzone that he tried to scoop up and run with instead of falling down. Had he just fell down on it, we likely win that game by 2 scores.... SC game was definitely on him. His poor play has costed us more than it has won us.
We simply don't have an offensive tweaker to more fit the players' strengths. Did anyone watch the Bama - LSU game ? Kiffen allows the QB to change the play call depending on how the defense lines up after the called play comes in. We are talking about a true freshman. Innovation is the key. Their offense, scheme wise, is very similiar to the one UT is running. We have equal, if not more talent except OLine perhaps. Has to come down to coaching and inability to adapt the scheme to players. For the 3rd time, (previous posts), we appear to be doing it backwards. Yeah, i'm just armchair, monday morning coach but damn running Hurd into stacked box repeatedly knowing defense is expecting exactly what we are going to do gets old quick when you watch it. I can only imagine how some players feel about it.It looks like Hurd had the big fish in a big pond problem. From what I've heard there are more players that aren't completely satisfied, wins will help with that.

WOW....that's pretty strong statement and exactly what vol nation doesn't want to hear.....the truth. but then they have the counter argument about how good Dobbs can be with his feet. The biggest truth that doesn't get said much is the opponents changing their defensive fronts to not only confuse Dobbs but also messes with our OLine. It takes UT too long to fiqure out the best adjustments to make. That's why you see so many 3 and outs and slow starts this season. A top tier OC would put a stop to this by utilizing the speed on the edges until he fiqures out if we can run which we probaly could once opposing LB's were forced to back off. It does require the QB to complete intermediate passes. If this was the case, he would have benched Dobbs already. For the sake of the other 10 players, our senior QB has lost us 2 games this year and taken us out of the title hunt. That seems to be unfair to the majority of the players.
